Pretty cool adventure game, it's pretty old but I think it holds up decently well. Easily the strongest part of the game is the bosses, which are pretty solid and fun in my opinion. The obvious exception to me is the Mamizou fight which was really boring and repetitive, but outside of that they are solid. The platforming itself isn't amazing, it's very trap heavy, and there's some good ones, but it crosses the threshold of overbearing to me, as there's just too many in some areas, at least for me, but there are way worse trap based games. Due to the platforming just being "alright" I wouldn't recommend this game to people who aren't big on bosses, because I don't think you will get much out of it if you aren't very into that aspect of adventure games. If you are on board with that, like I am, then it's a solid game that holds up pretty well, and is sufficiently challenging.

EXPLOSIVE is a pretty varied adventure full of traps, tricks and references to some of the classics such as Fangame, the original I Wanna be the Guy and of course the beloved Hatsune Miku and Schwarlitz Longhener who each have their chance in the spotlight.

Stages are primarily trap-orientated and don't feature too much in the way of gimmicks. Some segments get pretty tricky, although I'd say the meat of the game's difficulty lies with the boss fights which I'll get to in a moment. There is a kinda cool puzzlish stage involving shooting cherry-arrow blocks to manipulate the path of a cherry, and one of the later trap stages in particular was a highlight with mindreads at every turn.

The bosses are very hit or miss for me. There are a few pretty simplistic ones in nature without demanding too much, whereas others last absurdly long with very long choke attacks or just sudden inclines in difficulty that makes fighting some of them kinda tedious. I wasn't really a fan of the Miku avoidance either, just not finding the attacks very enjoyable to learn. I'm sure it'll be up other people's alley though, but it wasn't my kind of avoidance. The Taisa on the other hand was pretty fun despite some gripes I had regarding the pacing and tediousness of the first phase, and it made for a very intense finish.

Having said that, upon beating the boss and jumping in the game clear warp, my game actually froze and then closed and lost my clear data, but I'm counting that regardless. Who needs to see the credits anyway?

Overall a pretty decent adventure game with some real highlights and some kinda not-so-great moments.

What i can say, is that maker of this game definitely doesn't have measure. Despite being quite good in places and overall packing was interesting, game really suffers from having too much fucking traps. It's not clever traps even, for the most part it's completely opposite - just flying generic shit, that corrupt almost every save in that way. I'm not hater of traps, but Jesus, this was not great at all, even aside of generic aspect, logic behind many traps and triggers was insanely stupid

Aside of that, as i say was not that bad. Bosses were in general better than platforming and not really harder than it, aside of two exceptions, that i will mention later. So, yeah, bosses are fine, they are pretty interesting, even tho some of them are way too long i'd say. Platforming aside of traps was not bad, but not great either, it was rough sometimes, but never crossing line where it becomes meatgrinder, which is nice. I really like some puzzle screens and stage 2, and i feel like stage 4 tries with some triggers and cycles, but still sanks sometimes

Two hard bosses that are peak of difficulty are Stargazer Miku and final boss Colonel. Miku was surprisingly fun, i had very good times with this avoidance; aside of kinda boring intro, fight was unique with a lot of dinamic and interesting attacks. Colonel on the other hand was painful. Not even boring intro, but i'd say two first fucking phases were ResidenSleeper (because you guess what - 50 %+ of attacks are freaking easy patterns!) aside of maybe couple of attacks. I really hate flow of this fight - besides brutal and hard phase 3, there was pretty much nothing enjoyable, also last attacks of phase 1 can wall you very easily

At the end of the day, it was alright, but not the game i'd recommend to anyone tbh. Miku is not really worth it, and i doubt majority of players can had fun with this game
