The bosses in this game were surprisingly interesting, though simplistic as expected; they offered more than meets the eye, something I'm not used to from an older fangame. Otherwise, the highlight of the game was its platforming, in particular the final stage, though not actually being my favorite gameplay wise, is extremely unique and worth playing for alone. I've seen nothing like it and found the execution of its ideas to be very good, though lacking in some places due to overly long sections becoming rather draining on me. This level of creativity can be found in many other places, though I particularly took a liking to the stage with changes in size for spikes and blocks and the black and white area (it's very much what you expect, but I found the design and jumps to be more special and interesting than usual for this sort of thing).

Overall, though it's not a forgotten classic, it is a woefully mistreated good game that I feel deserves a second look for its inventive design all across the board.

I wanna be the I is a very special adventure game to me, as it maintains both the classic adventure style while also experimenting with some unique ideas. I had quite a lot of enjoyment from it, and definitely consider it one of my favorite older fangames.

The structure of the game is laid out as a Hub with 5 stages, each of them having a unique theme and boss at the end. One of them is a Bad Apple stage, another styled after Mega Man. There's a needle stage where the lights flicker on and off, and there's a stage where the objects change sizes to be small, normal, and large each screen. The fifth hub stage is a single long save with some funny moments in it. After beating each stage, you unlock the finale to the game, which has a pretty neat gimmick in which the Kid has been downgraded to single jump and must obtain shards in order to "upgrade" himself. They're spread out across a large screen and each set you collect saves your progress and allows you to collect a new set in further reaches.

The bosses are also usually fun and feel like pretty active fights, though two of them can be a bit of a pain. There's one boss in particular in the Mega Man stage that can be a bit tedious to fight, but he can easily be overcome by discovering a pattern. The final boss was honestly underwhelming compared to the rest, and might actually be the easiest of them all. Also, special shoutouts to the Penguin boss for being a bunch of fellas and giving me good RNG first try.

It is clearly a great classic that is worth some attention. I would definitely recommend it to adventurers who enjoy older styles.

Old adventure game that holds up in some places, and others it doesn't.
Production-wise, it's alright, a few default tiles here and there but nothing too generic.
The platforming is mostly fun, though the traps are rather generic and the final stage is annoying without your double jump.
And then there's the bosses, where sometimes there's a strategy you can use to get out unscathed, and other times you just have to pray to PDPlayer that the game has mercy on you.
The music is good, but it restarts, which is annoying.
It has good parts and bad parts, but it's overall not a bad experience. I'd recommend if you're interested in older fangames.

A mostly boring adventure game that utilizes all the old gimmicks and visual concepts that you've probably seen many times before. Some of the boss RNG can be very frustrating as it has wall-potential every now and then.
Gladly the last stage has a neat little gimmick and the final boss is pretty okay too. Overall I wouldn't recommend this though.
