It's pretty obvious that there was a lot of effort put into this game, considering Guille's stage is by far the best thing he's ever made; however, next to none of the game is actually fun, and the visuals a lot of times are a detriment to gameplay.

While this is the best needle I've seen Guille produce, it's still not very fun, and there were a few saves that actually made me shrivel in disgust for a few seconds after a few attempts. Visually, I think it is the best stage, and I did have the most fun with this stage by far, but it's still not that good.

King's stage is somewhat of a medley, which takes a save from a variety of needle games with their visuals. The difficulty curve is rougher than knuckles, and I'm especially looking at the Gentle Needle save, which wasn't even all that good of a save in the original. There's a lot of required low framing, too, and a lot of just really poor game/save selections.

Then there's Mauri's stage; this was by far the most infuriating of the three. The needle is mostly bland: corridor needle with the occasional "interesting jump" strewn in that really is just a more annoying jump than the other standard setups in each segment. The needle itself would be somewhat tolerable if it weren't for the visuals. You have a pretty dark background with black-outlined spikes and blocks; you have uhuhu Spike3-styled star bursts using apples in the foreground, which itself is a terrible decision; you have the transparent white bar moving down the screen with a randomized speed every time you reset, which is also in the foreground, which makes it even harder to see what you're doing on the already badly-designed visuals; you have the sudden screen flashes, which is the worst part of the damn stage; and you have the fade-out-of-black every time you reset, which makes for a truly pleasing-for-the-eye experience. All of this paired with the boring, unfun needle makes me wonder just what the hell the maker was thinking when he did this.

My evaluation: this game would be better if none of the stages existed. None of them are fun and none of them have outstanding design in any regard (unless it's on the negative side of the spectrum). Just skip it, it's not worth your time.

Mauri's area is the worst piece of garbage in GMK and not worth playing at all. Guille's area was really fun to play except for the final save which is much harder than the rest of the area but still fun. Slendy area was by far my favorite area in the game and the best in terms of play-ability and save balance the only terrible save was the last jump which was a double downward plane into a corner which was super cancer.
