If while running this game on a non gaming PC you get a D3DXCompile error at the main menu it means that you don't have DirectX properly installed causing the shaders to be unable to compile. Please install the appropriate version of DirectX for your machine and try again.

The basis of this game is that you have these toys (gimmicks) that can either harm you or help you in reaching the warp of each room. Sometimes you need to use them, sometimes you don't, and sometimes the order matters. For example, you have glass spikes you can shoot to break, but they will fall into small pieces that go outwards, so depending on your skill level you might not have to shoot as many as someone else might. The usage of the gimmicks is pretty interesting, especially of the teleporters. Overall it's pretty fun and moves at a pace that is good for something of this nature.

WetWookie's aesthetic is totally unique to themselves, combining the odd with the cute in what comes out to be a really cool atmosphere and look to their games. I Wanna Play with Dangerous Toys is my first real foray into the wacky world of WetWookie's brain, and it was a journey I was personally not the hugest fan of (relative to others), but I still enjoyed myself.
The real power of this game comes in through two things: visuals and gimmicks. The gimmicks are all quite interesting and well implemented, and the visuals are, as I said before, totally unique and make what would be a fairly by-the-numbers game for me into something more. Don't let my placing such importance on the visuals fool you into believing the gimmicks and platforming are no good, however. Despite my relative lack of excitement for them, I will fully admit that the game is very well made from all angles. The glass gimmick I found to be really neat, although I wasn't really into the game until the final two stages with the warp gimmicks.
I think the biggest issue I take with Play with Dangerous Toys is that each stage was a bit too short to really flesh out each idea. This game took around 24 minutes of my life, and while those were minutes well spent, I feel as if they were also minutes spent merely splashing around in a puddle. I'd like the puddle to be much vaster, as the water itself feels excellent, but there's just not an ocean to be found here despite my want for it. Some games make the half-hour length work (I Wanna Follow It from Nogard is a perfect example), but I don't think this one did.
Nonetheless, I would certainly recommend giving this one a go, and I certainly have high hopes for the sequel.

Great game with an original and well-done concept. Every stage has a gimmick that can either help or kill you depending of the situation and how you interact with them. My favorite was the teleporters yoou have to either take or avoid but I liked every gimmicks in the game.
The game is a bit short and on the easier side but it's a very enjoyable experience, I would recommend it for everyone.
