This game mostly revolves around a ball rolling gimmick, which is pretty neat as it creates some very unique platforming you certainly won't find in most fangames. While it's not the best, I was having some good fun with the game. The reason my rating is so low despite this is the final boss, which I absolutely hated. It's an extremely boring boss and half of the difficulty comes from jumping over the middle if you get bad blob positions which is so common. It was such a slog and made up a quarter of my total playtime which tainted the experience. I wouldn't say the game is bad because of it, it's just one boss, but considering I wasn't a huge fan of the game already, it definitely made me a lot more neutral on the entire experience overall.

Roll Around is a sort of Needleventure with the primary focus being on a rolling gimmick. It's a clever idea that's pretty fun for the most part, though I do think the game has some rough edges for being the first to use it.

The platforming is generally going to be a mix of pretty much the same usage for most of the game, and at some point it does start to feel rather repetitive. I think the best parts is when the save has something interesting in it, such as the knights that turn you around, or the pipes in the final stage. The game also has 3 bosses in it, one at the end of each stage, and I thought they were just a mixed bag to me. The first one really just comes down to doing a segment of needle 3 times. The second one has an obnoxious shield you have to fall off a platform, shoot, and jump back up on. And the final boss was almost enough to make me stop playing the game because it was rather easy to miss doing damage and have to restart a cycle in it. These issues sides, they are still interesting since they use the gimmick somewhat, but I do wish they actually focused on it more than they did.

I would still recommend this for the gimmick itself, it's an interesting idea and the game definitely gets some mileage out of it.
