So: there's an object on the title screen that becomes visible over the course of a second. When fully visible, it'll spawn another object that becomes visible over the course of a second, every frame. When this new object is fully visible, it will also spawn a new object every frame, killing your computer in a matter of seconds. And quite frankly, that also represents this game pretty well I think: initially it seems very nice and innocent and beautiful, but as soon as you get past that it's soul-crushing.

The game starts off with a nice town that serves as a restart point, as you go through the 4 stages representing the 4 seasons. These 4 stages are pretty charming and have some nice ideas to them, with some decent bosses too. After these initial 4, you have to take a new optional path in the stages to fully conquer the 4 seasons. And then the game begins.
In an unbelievable twist of fate, you are now playing I just wanna play the needle game 4. Over 100 screens of needle await you spanning like 8 stages or something, it's actually insane. And it feels the same as that series too, just plenty of nothing needle with weak themes. I think there was a boss or 2 at some point in it but it's really hard to say.

And just when you think you've seen it all, the game hits you with "sub game". A completely optional entirely different game you can play called "Kid Quest" seemingly inspired from MMO games where you just endlessly defeat enemies and level up. After an initial pretty nice area with quick level ups, you can enter some weird temple with harder enemies and leveling up gets much harder as well, and you have to do this temple 10 times to beat this Kid Quest sub game. And if you die, you lose stats, making leveling up harder again. Of course, you can just leave at any moment and go back to I just wanna play the needle game 4.
And speaking of, this game turns into a floor game here! And half of it is a +1 gimmick! And then you have to go back down after you're done with that! But the truly insane twist reveals itself after completing this section: if you didn't do the 10 runs of Kid Quest needed to complete the game, then you cannot fight the final boss. The game just ends right then and there. Absolutely unbelievable.

My brain has never felt as overwhelmed as it did when experiencing this game. I don't know. It's certainly one of the most unique experiences I've ever played.
