Pretty fun adventure game by MattinJ with a slight metroidvania style. There's multiple items you can obtain, such as bombs, and there is also a currency that drops from enemies that you can spend for additional items and upgrades. However, there are few things dragging the game back that I wish would not have occurred, for example, there is a health system yet half the obstacles in the game can still immediately kill you. Another issue I have is the pacing, the game essentially resolves around finding three gems, but the obtainment of two is rather boring. Finally, the final boss: the fact the best way to beat the first phase ends it in a few seconds sort of kills the mood when you realize you didn't need to do half of the fight.
Overall, it's still a fun adventure game, but it definitely lacks some shine. If you're looking for an experience after this that contains more flesh to it, I would recommend MattinJ's I Wanna be the Overlord, which is the same idea as this but heavily expanded.

Great game that gets slightly carried by it's mechanics, since I didn't enjoy too much of the later platforming and the last boss is really cheesable, but still great fangame that I enjoyed a lot.

MattinJ has a remarkable talent for making adventure RPGs with exciting worlds, a consistent gameplay, great bosses (this game lacked a few) and a grinding system that brings the best of what fangames can offer. Soundtrack is excellent and shows he knows about the videogame genre (never was a fan of Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, but I always admired its soundtrack).
This was made for the Shortventure contest of 2017, and I think that is it's greatest drawback. It's not a short adventure, but one you can see was limited in the extent of its possibilities in order to comply with a set of standard contest rules for a contest. These experiences demand to be at least as diverse as Reach the Moon, another one of the best adventure fangames.
Do not doubt for a second. With enough humor, adventure and action, this should bring along a great pair of hours.
