What a fucking amazing game, it's been a long time since I've been so completely engaged and happy with a fangame. I almost came when it ended, it's such a good game.

It looks fantastic, and uses several gimmicks and traps to make the levels fun. At first I didn't like the traps but they become especially good after the first boss. The game only consists of two stages, but they both have such a massive variety of gimmicks and interesting design, that it makes for them some of the best stages ever in a fangame.

I wasn't too keen on the first boss, which was a major step up in difficulty for me. The final boss is really cool, but it was over so quick for me. I wish that it would have been just slightly harder, though I appreciate that it's a very fun and non-frustrating boss.

I wish there was more, but even with this amount of content it's such an amazing game. Go play this.

Fangame Clear #45

Another trap game, so I'm automatically inclined to rate it lower, however it sets itself apart in a few ways that make it better than your average trap-spam game.

1 -- The traps can be creative in quite a few circumstances, there are traps that I've seen in this game that I haven't seen utilized outside of it.

2 -- The bosses are actually quite fun! The first has you read attack patterns and the second can throw basically whatever it wants at you, so it makes for a very enjoyable and unique experience all around!

3 -- The gimmicks are utilized quite well, and are integrated into some of the trapping, which is always a bonus.

Overall, if you're not a fan of the trap genre, chances are this game won't make you change your mind, but if you are, then you're sure to have a fun time.

For some reason it took me a long time to understand how the first boss works and that might've soured my experience for a second, but in hindsight I enjoyed it all to be honest. Great fangame

Hibikusuku is a trapventure game which utilizes humor and cleverly implemented gimmicks to excellent effect. The visuals are superb and match the excellent level design perfectly. The bosses too are quite good, though boasting too much health for my tastes (no matter how good a boss is, if it takes forever to kill, I'll get irritated with it).

I honestly don't have much to say about this game as despite the sheer goodness of Hibikusuku, it leaves me with little thoughts on the actual game itself; that is likely due to the relatively minuscule nature of the game, featuring only two stages both with bosses. With that said, both these stages (and bosses) are fairly lengthy, and due to the nature of a trapventure game, you won't breeze through each stage as quickly as you would other games of this stature. Therefore, you're still getting a lot of bang for your buck - and even if the game is short, that is no slight. these small trapventure romps are some of the more enjoyable fangame experiences. Sure, they don't match up to the titan-esque adventure or needle games like Ocean Princess or Crimson Needle 3, but that is not necessary. I Wanna Hibikusuku is a lovely little promenade through the mind of a brilliant creator, one who would do quite well doing whatever they liked, be it bite-sized trapventures or perhaps more hefty games; either way, I am truly excited to see what else they cook up.
