Just an all-around great adventure game. A few stages with some light gimmick stuff mixed in, a funny little story complete with hilarious voice-overs, and some bosses. One of these bosses in particular is one of the best bosses I've seen in a while, definitely the highlight of the game. Some people would take a month just to produce a boss like that, this guy gives you that and an entire game, and his draws all of his own art complete with animations.

The game just looks great, plays great, difficulty is right, production is off the charts, and the story presentation is a great touch. This is the sort of work that helps cement Erik as one of communities better game makers in recent years.

Another classic Erik game. Sequel to last year's contest, I Wanna Grow Up. Polished personally done artwork, humorous references, whimsical enemies and exciting boss fights abound. He maintains his formula here and seems to refine it a little bit with each game.

Definitely recommended to anyone familiar with his style and wanting more or anyone who likes a nice, very fair short-medium length adventure game.

Consisting of a multitude of stages each with their own unique enemies and platforming design and alongside a plethora of cutely designed and fun-to-play boss fights, Travel the Night makes for a wonderful little adventure, and most likely my favourite game to come from Erik.

It has that signature Erik style visually, although it feels more varied and improved from past games. A slight gripe I used to have is that things often felt quite same-y visually, in that graphics were often fairly dark and featuring a night-time sort of environment. Whilst this is still present, areas such as the Pyramid or the Underwater area felt like a nice change of pace, and the BOT boss in particular felt like a big change of style from what I'm used to seeing which made for a nice surprise, and maybe my favourite boss in the game. The level design is also solid throughout and the enemies (which are very adorably drawn each with their own personality) are placed accordingly to create some fun challenges throughout.

I was a big fan of this game. I'd still like to see some slight departures from the darker-style and venture into more unfamiliar territory, such as brighter and more zany areas or perhaps a wider variety of boss styles, but they're small gripes really. From the charming original artwork to the wide selection of bosses and mini-bosses and even the text-to-speech, it's just a fun adventure all around.
