One of the best gimmick fangames I've ever played. Every stage gives you something completely new to deal with. The best part is that even if you don't like a certain mechanic, it's not going to torture you for too long, as they don't get that many screens each.

A four-stage needle game. It's definitely a game with a host of flaws, but I felt my time with it was more positive than negative. I think it's good if you're able to clear 65-70 difficulty needle without struggling much, but the harder saves will likely be quite unpleasant if you're near your limit. Also, if you clear the first stage, the rest should be manageable as well.

What a fun needle, easily one of my favorites if not my favorite. Plasma's stage is a big difficulty and style change but it's perfect for the final stage. Not a 10 cause a few saves here and there felt slightly off in some previous areas.
I'd very much recommend it to anyone looking for some good needle.

One screen of platforming that is barely anything and a decently short avoidance where multiple bursts of yellow cherries are shot, but their speed can vary from like extremely slow to a decent speed, and the cherry sizes vary from extremely tiny 1px cherries to decently big ones. It's an RNG attack that can just get really dumb and dense and you can just randomly die to what seems to be an invisible bullet.

When the boss ends the game just closes itself, epic.

Rating includes extra. Difficulty rating includes normal game (although extra is less difficult and doesn't affect it).

I am unaware of which game came out first between Device and this, but many fangames used the same formula:

-Begin in a hub from which you can choose 'n' stages in any order (n = 6 this time)
-Every stage has a cryptic secret (not so cryptic in this one, but at least one is not obvious)
-Face a boss at the end of a stage
-Enjoy generic traps from beginning to end, including at the very end of a save
-There is a final boss
-You unlock extra after beating the boss and collecting all secrets, with the extra requiring you to beat an additional stage or many, and having to face all bloody bosses again in steroids

Every stage is blood themed in a way, although there is a stage that was randomly decided to be the typical "forest stage"; I swear the only think missing was the overused Super Mario RPG theme. Screen transitions are quite unfair and mostly don't make sense.

If you're one of the people like me that usually begin with the upper left stage instead of venturing yourself in a random order, beware. Unless you understand perfectly the moving cherries that form a circle in the first screen, this screen is certified to be hell. Even when you're capable of noticing how to do it, you'll realize how precise it is. The very first save of the first screen of the game, which was this one, took me 25 minutes and 150 deaths. The second save of the same screen took me 6 deaths.

Expect an atrocious difficulty balance all over the place, but you will face the reach of this unnevenness right at the start. Don't get discouraged (or, just don't play the game at all).

The Miku is really boring, with a first minute that gets really boring, a second minute that is a cascade of fast attacks you must grind your learning through practice to get them right, and the final minute has two very precise moves which are really precise in strategy as they are position based (the two flower-like attacks that explode from the very center of the screen). The vocaloid is really fun, but the implementation to the avoidance is quite bad and it does have a Lovetrap attack at the end which is most unwelcome and frustrating.

Up to this point, the game is as awful as Explorer: failed gimmick ideas, bad execution, a really bad avoidance with a banger of a song (wasted potential) and

Now, enter the Extra Stage. You remember those old fangames where it was clearly done by two people, as properly credited in this page (say, Tempest or Breaking Out)? You can tell who did what if they have a preceeding reputation, or at least one does. Extra Stage is an oddity like itself. It has entertaining side scrollers, ingenious traps, a menacing terror aura, a dragon boss with robotic autotune, and even a Buy-the-Crayon-like / See-the-Moon-like segment with gravity gimmicks!

What is this? Who made EX? Was it done by the same person? Should I find a way to translate the read me? This is an entirely different, decent game.

The Extra Boss is not only better than the final Miku for any% clear, but also quite cool, more balanced, implements the cool attack nicely, has a cool sprite and a great background for the "blood theme".

I cannot recommend this game solely based on experiencing Extra, since that involves also fighting all bosses buffed, and some stages do not even feel blood-themed at all. It's a strange, very bad game overall.

If you're into the K2 challenge and have a high tolerance for those particularities that old fangames had.... err, sure, try it, but do seek for EX and use a guide for the secrets.

For: I Wanna Be The Kazakhstan 2: The Box
I was initially skeptical that a sequel to I wanna be the Kazakhstan coming out so soon after the original would manage to live up to the brilliance of the original but this game managed to exceed my expectations. I Wanna Be The Kazakhstan 2: The Box is a surreal adventure experience that picks up where the first game left off and continues in ways you could never predict. It is significantly shorter than the original but I don't see this as an issue as I enjoyed it while it lasted.

The meaning of this instalment was harder for me to parse this time but I have tried my best to interpret it:

Where stages begin and end in this game is more nebulous than the first Kazakhstan so I will discuss parts of the game as they appear.

The game begins with a frightening encounter with the final boss of Kazakhstan 1. The reappearance of this entity has thrown me for a loop and has made me reconsider what it represents. My first hunch is that this represents a reoccurring problem the kid must focus on to completely get rid of.

The kid then goes through a mysterious white area with dangerous red blocks which leads him to the lab. The lab contains diagrams for the kid to traverse and puzzles to solve. I believe this represents to kid getting a STEM education after finding philosophical enlightenment in the first game and the struggles that come with adapting to this unfamiliar environment.

After going through the lab, the kid goes up against the entity once again. Now that the kid is educated both scientifically and philosophically, he is able to defeat it. A scene afterwards in the city confirms his mastery over the entity and the kid continues his journey.

Next the kid enters an area devoid of gravity and can move in straight lines in any directions. I believe this represents the kid's determination on his goal, no longer stopping to reflect and simply moving forward without stopping. Later in the stage the kid moves slower but still keeps moving. Eventually, the kid encounters Prince Edward Island, another Canadian province and uses his determination to defeat it.

Once PEI is defeated, the kid realizes that he is still not ready to achieve his goal and has a mental dilemma on what to do next. This is represented in the next section that takes the form of a maze in which two evil faces hidden (representing his self-doubt) in the labyrinth must be defeated to continue. After completing the maze, the kid encounters New Brunswick and uses his swimming ability to defeat it.

Once the kid overcomes his mental dilemma, he decides to train some more. He begins by meditating under the stars (represented by the star waiting room) and then proceeds to train his body physically by doing multiple laps through repeated jumps. Once he completes his training he enters a new lab. This time, the lessons of the lab are unnecessary as he has already trained himself more than capable of moving forward. He reaches the orb he encountered earlier in the game and shatters it, seeing the world finally for what it really is. He can now fight the title screen of Kazakhstan 1, demonstrating that he is willing to leave the past of the false world behind. The story leaves off there...

An overall enjoyable abstract adventure game that both fans and haters of the original can maybe possibly enjoy! Would recommend!
