For: I wanna be the Wtrap
2 screens of generic, unoriginal trap spam that quickly becomes tedious after a few attempts. After the 2 screens, you fight a cherry boss that you can skip by just jumping over it and into the portal (pretty sure this is intended because the boss might be invincible). After that, you're brought to a screen with 5 portals that all kill you except for one. The one portal brings you to a screen with 2 saves and a sign. I assume this is the end because once you're done reading the sign, an unavoidable trap kills you.

Wouldn't recommend.

For: I wanna be the Ballerina Girl
When I started fangaming a year and a half ago, I was like many other younger players; optimistic. I hoped to become a player who would eventually become respected within the community, one who could be called one of the best. I knew this would be hard, so I pushed myself to succeed. Ultimately, I cannot say whether or not I gained this respect or the skill to become good, but I do know that I was very foolish to think that prioritizing skill would make fangames more fun. I thought to myself "if I could do well enough to clear any fangame, why would it be hard to have fun?" This is where I made the mistake most younger members make.

Now, what does that have to do with this boss? Well, to be frank, my drive towards achieving my goals came to a halt a few months ago. Like most players in the community, you can only play so much before you burn out. I realized that improvement is a slow, strenuous process that doesn't happen quickly. Thus, my burnout contributed to a demotivative period where I didn't really have fun playing anything. No matter what boss I opened, I often found myself getting discouraged and eventually closing the game. I struggled in achieving my goals, but more importantly, struggled to have fun. I know priorities differ among players, but in the end, I sought to get out of this period of demotivation and burnout and sought games that would be fun. Eventually, I ran into the originality challenge and this magnificent work of art (we'll save kill originality for another day).

Platforming: N/A

Avoidance:

This boss is a 4 minute fight played alongside my favorite Gumi song. The patterns vary in terms of difficulty but get slightly harder as the fight goes on. Rng is present within the fight and is usually fair with the occasional "nothing I could do there" sort of death. The attacks are hard enough to disturb consistency but their fairness usually builds consistency instead of breaking it. The boss begins around a 60-70 and escalates slowly up (72ish) until the final patterns (80) where the hard part of the fight comes forth. The precision of the patterns is kicked up a notch and most of the attacks will require the player to perform tight timings in order to pass them. The slightly increasing difficulty also applies to the rng; the pre-chorus attacks get slightly more rng-dependent, which did annoy me to an extent, but not enough to make me hate the fight. None of the patterns felt too hard to figure out, but the timings for the last 45-60 seconds of the fight were very difficult to learn and annoying to die to in order to learn them. All in all, its a fantastic fight that I had a lot of fun with. Aside from minor annoyances like the "nothing I could do deaths" and the precision of the last few patterns, this is a near perfect fight.

Aesthetics:

Simple in a good way. The song is amazing (I expect nothing less from Gumi), the appearance of the arena doesn't get in the way and the attacks and overall production value are top tier. Additionally, the simplicity is somewhat sophisticated if that makes sense, as the maker does conventional fangaming things in non-conventional ways (i.e. gold feather=inf jump) Once again, near perfect.

Wrap-up, conclusion, whatever you wanna call it

When I think about myself as a player, I point out my growth both in skill and maturity. I remember mentioning that I would love to be the next normal, moose, plynq, casual, sunbla, other avoidance god while grinding Sunspike, another one of my favorite games. Once again, I realized the uncertainty and outright unlikely chances of this happening, which led me to seek another outlet fangames provide: fun.

Nowadays, it seems as if some makers, players, and members of the community seem to focus more on skill or difficulty instead of the fun factor of fangames. I cannot speak for the whole community, but I know that plenty of makers sought to make fun a priority while balancing in some difficulty for those who love that in a fangame. Of course, maybe I'm out of my mind and the current condition of the fangaming community is ideal, but once again I cannot speak for the community. That is something that the community as a whole and individually itself decides. I know that not everyone will agree on what is most important when making a fangame, but if I may throw my say into the mix, the game must prioritize fun over difficulty. It must not prioritize one or the other, but balance them both so that all or at least most parties are satisfied. I wasn't the smartest "young one" when I first came into the community, and I realized that continuing to seek out the impossible would lead to nothing good. The constant comparisons to better players and high expectations, among other things, led to my burnout. I knew that I had to avoid something like that again. This boss helped to open my eyes and show how having fun with anything can lead to bigger and better things. Yes, challenging yourself is key for improvement, but whose to say that sacrificing fun is worth that improvement? It will come, regardless of whatever game you play.

If I could wrap up this rant/statement/idk, I would do it with some advice. The late, great Robert Frost said we as people should "take the road less traveled." Nowadays, the road of difficulty seems to be the common path for most players. However, the path of enjoyment and fun still exists, why not take it? Also, be patient. That's important too.

Opinions and rants aside, this will probably be my favorite boss for months/years to come. I enjoyed almost everything about it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a boss to play. If you don't like pattern, I'd probably say stay away. However, it wouldn't hurt to try if you're still up to the task.

For: I want Yoruko to step on me
Habluka has brought us another nice, but difficult needle game in the form of I want Yoruko to step on me. The game was very fun and the reward for clearing was even better. I enjoyed it quite a bit, even though the precision was a bit much at times.

Platforming:

Overall, very difficult. Screen 1 sets the mood well with some more unique platforming surrounded by your typical corners and tbones. This same style is mimicked for the other 3 screens up until the clear screen; the only thing that changes is the typical jump. As mentioned previously, the first screen features tbones, corners, gates, and diags while the other screens up the difficulty with jumps like planes, super f's, one jump diamonds, gate diagonals, and ledges. To be more specific, plane jumps appear after screen 1 and are featured in every screen for then on, more corners appear as you progress, and the ledges and super f appear on screen 4.

In terms of the precision, the game expects you to know aligns (if not, there is an align chart provided to you via the backspace key) and requires the player to complete several frame perfect jumps/movements. Each save varies on its precision, but the general difficulty curve goes up as you progress (at least after screen 2, the difficulty dampens a bit after screen 1 but picks back up after).

As mentioned previously, I interpreted the game to use a mix of unique and typical jumps. Therefore, the "special" or unique factor is, to be frank, on the fence. While the needle artist does use plenty of typical jumps, the presence of the occasional "unusual jump" prevents the game from getting too boring. However, I believe the scale still leans towards typical. With this in tune with the difficulty of the game, it can get very frustrating if you become inconsistent.

Overall, the platforming is very hard, but not hard in a sense that makes the game bad. I found it very challenging and fun to play through. Although some of the saves were a bit too precise for my liking, I still felt satisfied when I beat the game (for more than one reason eheheheeheheheheheheehehehehehehehehehehe lewd clear screens are awesome)

Aesthetics:

I haven't played much of Habluka's games, but seeing his work with hyper sphincter leads me to believe his template is always monocolor. He chose the color brown for this game, which was slightly unattractive to look at after a while, but the overall atmosphere didn't really get in the way of how I enjoyed the game. The music was nice, but I couldn't tolerate the constant ringing every minute or so; that was very annoying. I'd recommend playing your own music instead.

Conclusion:

Good game. Doesn't look good but I enjoyed the challenge. Would recommend to people who like precise needle. If you're not into that...

use the pantsu at the end for motivation. Wew lad, THOSE FUCKING THIGHS HOLY FUCK DUDE .

For: I wanna climb a strange tower
Forgettable tower game that features 5 stages of progressively increasing uniqueness up until the final boss.

The first stage features a gravity flipper gimmick. It does not feature the usual arrows we see in many other fangames. Instead, it uses lines to switch gravity. Once you hit a line, your controls become inverted and the screen zooms in very quickly. This stage lasts for around 3 screens.

The second stage is a looping screen puzzle that shares similarity to the 3rd stage in IW Call Me It. You touch lines until all of them have been touched. Once you finish the puzzle, you're greeted with the mini-boss.

The mini boss is a rainbow cherry ring. Each cherry has 6 HP and must be shot while dodging gray cherries that increase in density as more and more cherries die. This boss is very engaging and fun. Unfortunately, it is very short due to how easy it is so the fun is short lived.

After the mini-boss, you're greeted with a maze that flips after hitting blue triggers. You're tasked with collecting 4 yellow orbs while making sure not to trap yourself in the maze, as some triggers can make traversing the room impossible.

The next stage is 3 screens of needle that are shaded with a certain color. This color determines what effect is placed on the player while doing this screen. Red clouds the entire room in a red musk while leaving some sight near the player. Blue clouds the player. Yellow is a counterpart of red, surrounding the player with a giant yellow circle that masks the things around you. After these 3 screens, you're greeted with the second mini-boss.

The second mini-boss is a cherry that shoots projectiles at you while applying the same effects seen in the previous stage. It's nothing special. Easily first tryable.

The last stage is a 10 screen stage that applies a screen effect to each screen. This stage is the most unique of the 5 stages and I had the most fun here.

The final boss is easily the worst part of the game. It starts the player off with 5 lives and makes you dodge rng in a lime-like box while throwing the occasional gib your way. Most of the attacks are either tedious, precise, or unfair. The boss really brought the game down and sucked what fun I had playing the platforming.

Wouldn't recommend. It's not hard but it's not fun either.

Short, two screen "IWBT Strong" type needle (it looks aids as fuck but you're invincible) followed by an easy avoidance to one of my favorite luka songs out there. It was fun, but too vanilla and boring to recommend to anyone.

The avoidance is 90 percent pattern, so consistency will not be a problem. Additionally, all rng appears at the beginning, so it's an easy clear once you learn everything. Learning the patterns isn't hard since you can treat every attack like rng and sightread it. Overall, an above average game that shouldn't take too much time for any player. Would recommend to beginners.
