Extreme Depths 2 is really two different games, the first is a fairly standard needle game with an exciting boss at the end of it. The second is the true end content of the game, which has a good bit more variety and additional exciting bosses.
Like pretty much every review says, the real attraction of the game is everything at the end, so I'll immediately say it's best to play it if you intend to do true end. The first seven stages is incredibly vanilla needle, and although I did find it mostly enjoyable it sort of acts as a blemish on what could be an amazing game. Everything else though manages to be super interesting, to unlock the grand final bosses you have to go through some gimmick stages, they're rather fun but can have some hard as hell saves in them. It's all worth it though in the end for some of the best bosses ever put in a fangame; there's a bit too much going on in them for me to discuss but I think intuitiveness is one of their main strengths.
Overall, I think this is a game you can greatly enjoy if you are capable and tolerant of some 60-65 diff needle in order to reach the real meal. Highly recommended.

Two screens of quick, fun needle with some neat maneuvers centered around double jump conservation.
The final drop was a bit rougher than what I expected, judging from the content before it.
Specifically with launching off the vine, and how that affected vspeed for the rest of the jump.
Would recommend. For players barely able to handle 50 difficulty, expect to struggle a bit with the final save.

This game goes hard! Too bad it's very, very short. Apparently it was supposed to have updates, but the service is since offline.
The game has different physics, runs at 30fps and has no sound effects, but in its core it had a lot of potential for something reminiscent of late 2000's games.
Would be interesting to see what a finished version of this would look like.

Review based on very easy mode.
Going to agree with Chrisay, this could actually be pretty fun but two of the bosses become annoying at the very end. Justination is really fun until White phase which swaps your left and right arrows AND your jump and shoot arrows, making it feel like absolute trash to have at the end of a Destination fight. The gravityman fight is neat for the first phase, but the second feels more like a luck grind. The angels are fine though, definitely the easiest in the game.
Wouldn't recommend it.
