Since I expected this game would last for like 10 screens, it felt so long for me. This might be the only fangame that my impression about the game changes multiple times during playing. There were about 5 moments I felt like 'this is gonna be an ending' but weren't. About halfway through the game, I stopped thinking about the ending and started to focus about the game itself. The needle and gimmicks in the game were pretty smooth to go through for the most part. Despite some saves that were a bit off the balance in my criteria, they were at a tolerable extent. Though I'll be lying if I say I wasn't bothered thinking about the originality of the game. I just can't seem to figure out why copying soundtracks and tilesets from other fangames would be good at any points. I think it just makes the game less creative. Aside that, the game has uniqueness in some cutscenes and neeldes. I can't say all of the journey was worth it given how long the game was, but they were definitely some parts that made me smile.

Treasure Hunter is an excellent adventure game where the main focus ends up being the boss battles more than the platforming. I greatly enjoyed it.
The game generally takes place alongside a few areas with branching paths, each with a boss at the end. The platforming is mostly very easy compared to the bosses, it's probably like a 40 at most while the bosses bring it up to the high 50s. Despite this imbalance it executes such very well by making the bosses actually feel really fun, so it kind of reminds me of games like Titan Souls where the bosses are the main content and everything else is world building. Of the bosses all of them are very good, though the next-to-last was notably lower in quality and the final boss had a single attack that felt way harder than the others. Also, the game seems to have a lot more content past this ending but I decided to conclude my journey with any% per the recommendation of other reviewers.
Overall, this is a very stellar adventure game if you want some exciting boss fights with little platforming to worry about in-between them. It was quite enjoyable and definitely highly recommended by me.
