I wanna be the Fish is a classic high-difficulty barrage avoidance that has aged somewhat over the years. The game uses simple, straightforward attacks and high speed bullets to create an intuitive fight that requires very little learning, making it a very skill-based avoidance and a common one for players to measure their improvement since you can very easily feel how well you're doing by your results; The fight has attacks that demand you to be good enough to read to consistently pass, those being pulsing orbs, corners, and final, and the ones you can consistently pass are a good indication of your reading ability. While the game is fun when you can consistently get past corners - since corners is by far my favorite attack in the fight being both a blast to read&dodge and brilliant in the reading complexity it offers for how simple the attack is - getting past corners also usually results in getting to final meaning once you get to that point you'll have endless frustration from final deaths when you feel like you could already taste the clear. Before that point, the game does not feel as fun, since both corners and orbs will feel like major roadblocks that you have to get good rng to get through.
Overall the game is probably best enjoyed if you're not only good enough to clear it, but also have either done so in the past or are good enough to consistently do final, as that alleviates the pressure of clearing especially since fish is considered to be an important clear. If you are not in that situation, it's still a decently fun game, but one whose difficulty balance will likely have you tiring yourself without making significant progress.

The avoidance is great and 90% skill based, all of the attacks are completely readable if you're good enough except final was really RNG-heavy. Had fun with it.
