Rating doesn't include extra/100%. Maybe I'll change it someday, but I'm not sure yet.
Great adventure game that overflows with tons of creativity. There's an inventory system, where you can store all the weapons and items you get through the game. There's a built-in autofire that can be switched on and off inside the game (And there is a point for that, some puzzles will be a lot harder if you don't disable the autofire). And the main attractive of the game, the collectibles. There are stars, hidden rupees and optional items. There's even a mini-game planet! This game has a lot of interesting things, it's very open, going far beyond the standart 'open world' fangames.
The stages are planets, and each of them has a certain amount of teleporters, which you can unlock by simply touching them. These teleporters allow you to progress through the lenghty stages without having to do everything over and over again, something particularly useful when you're talking about a game with lots of extra stuff to do scattered through the game.
The planets are incredibly well-designed. Some of the earlier planets have plenty of issues (The Nature Planet doesn't seem like a Nature Planet at all, with so many star blocks around. And the Water Planet has one of the most annoying water gimmicks I've seen so far, forcing you to smash your jump button to get somewhere). I also have some extra complaints about particular saves (Some saves are incredibly tedious, like a particular one from the Mountain Planet that you'll probably recognize by just looking, where you must use your bombs a lot of times to unlock a path through the rocks, with a very precise jump at the end. Honestly, what's the point of doing that?), but overall, the planets are very well-designed, with the Mountain Planet and the Sky Planet being some of the best (It's very easy to move around in the Mountain Planet, since you have the height to help you, and overall it really feels like a mountain planet and the Sky Planet has a palace-like structure that is really imposing).
Most of the saves are quite puzzle-ish, often involving lots of odd ways to use your items. And the bosses are your basic use-your-new-item bosses, but since most items are something you don't see everyday, the bosses are also something you don't see everyday, being quite innovative and, obviously, quite hard. With so many incredibly well-made things, it could easily be a 10/10 fangame.
Yes, could. Of course, a great game must have its drawbacks, and this one has plenty of them. Aside from what I already mentioned about the earlier planets and the tedious saves, there's still more. The first thing that comes to the mind is...Well, with so many items and innovative stuff, it's to be expected that you'll be reading the instructions a lot, right? Well, sorry, it's in japanese, so if you don't understand it, go figure out yourself! This wouldn't be a big issue if the instructions were only about how to use the items, but that also works for...everything. In the Sky Planet, you must 'see' the 3 pictures that will lead you to the Sand Planet, where you'll get an item that you'll need to unlock the last stage. This basically means touching the pictures. Also, each of these pictures will help you to solve one puzzle at the Sand Planet, and it's almost impossible to do these puzzles without the help of these pictures. Now try figuring it out by yourself, without any instructions to help you. Fun.
Also, the inventory system is great, but in a game where you must switch through weapons and items constantly (Mainly at the Sky Planet, where you must use different items to get through a single save), it's more convenient to use the items through different keys, or being able to switch weapons/items by simply pressing a key. It takes longer to switch weapons/items when you're using an inventory, which makes things more tedious than they should be.
These might seem like small mistakes, but they heavily affect the gameplay, because their presence is often noticed. That being said, this is still an incredible fangame and an unique experience, and I highly recommend it.

Got this while played K2Mania.
Great game with a lot of production value, even tho it had restarting music. Platforming is pretty neat, bosses are meh. Would recommend.

Best adventure fangame in my opinion. I haven't played IDWBA2 yet so that opinion may change but we'll see.

You can tell whoever made this game really cared and spent a lot of time on it. One of the best made adventure fangames, the game spoofs the Mario 64 theme of collecting stars scattered over various worlds. There is a menu system with an inventory screen where collectable powerups can be swapped in and out.
The only issue with the game is that the text is not in English, so it can be very confusing trying to understand some of the mechanics and inventory system. Once you understand how it works though, you should be fine. There is also a lot of optional and extra content in this game, if collected allows the player to get to a true final stage.
It's not an easy game, and the earlier parts of the game suffer from being a little too booby trap heavy. The farther into the game you go the less traps there seem to be. Either way its probably one of those "must play" fangames for anyone who likes these types of games.

Super cool game, especially when you consider the age of it. It's an openish game where you get new abilities to unlock new areas and stuff, kinda like Scribble Notes although much older. For the most part it pulls this off very well, and makes for a fun satisfying experience. There's some traps which are kinda annoying and one boss, the atom thing, is mega annoying, but besides that it's a pretty consistently fun game that holds up well. Fun stuff :)
Edit after 100%:
I went back and played this game again to go for 100% and I ended up enjoying it even more than my first playthrough, for one this might be the most ahead of it's time out of nearly any fangame, and while at times it definitely shows it's age and maybe has some annoying content, the creativity in the gimmicks, the clever design, the solid if a bit goofy bosses still hold up amazingly well and there's just so much to love about it. True ending has a pretty awesome final stage with controlling two kids, and the minigames were pretty neat if a rather small portion of play time. I definitely have issues with some parts of it but I definitely think this game is worthy of the respect it gets.

Galaxy is a large Adventure game that uses a non-linear format to deliver quite a special journey. It was fun for the most part, though it did have some rough edges as you'd expect from a fangame this old.
To start with the good, the format of the game is just great. As the name hints, the world is actually an entire galaxy, and you can select which planets to visit through the hub. After the first planet, you unlock quite a few to go to, thus opening up a lot of options early on. Planets are littered with stars and secrets to collect, and those secrets are actually really useful to the player as they give you abilities or items sometimes. The platforming of the stages is pretty varied and is usually built around a new item you receive at the start of each world. Most of the bosses are alright as well and are accompanied by an interesting level system that changes their attacks as they level up mid-fight. You can actually have a rematch with bosses as well, this time they'll start at Level 2 instead of 1, and will eventually reach their highest level of 3 to unleash their full power.
Now for the bad, I have two major complaints, and sadly they were enough to really knock down the game for me. The first involves the water used in the game, it's actually dreadful. Essentially it weighs you down a fuck ton, so you'll only go a tiny bit even with a full jump, thus meaning you'll be spamming jump for the entire stage it's used in. I found it to actually be extremely painful to get through physically and easily consider the water temple the worst stage. My other complaint involves the boss that you have to reflect bullets onto, it truly feels like one of the most unfair fights possible. One attack it has involves cherries coming from the sky that has a limited range of safe zone, the problem is that I've absolutely been walled by it before with no chance to reach a safe zone since it's all the way on the other side of the room. That boss also has a really quick plus sign of cherries it can shoot and demolish you immediately, which means you either have to prepare for it every attack change, have pretty fucking good reflexes, or just get insta-killed by it every single time. It was particularly annoying to see the final boss be given this attack as well.
Overall, I think Galaxy is definitely an impressive game for when it came out, and even still when considered in the current time; but I also think it is a victim of its age due to how vicious the water feels and some of the traps, alongside having one of my least favorite bosses ever. I think it's still a solid game and should probably be remade for modern times, but it's good enough, for now, to be worth playing.
