Basically, I agree with the other reviewers about the stages and bosses.
I personally didn't think it was that bad about the stages.
Indeed, the number of traps is much larger than the save interval,
and some of them are common and some of them are annoying,so they are not very interesting.
However, some of the traps were memorable, and there were traps that I've never seen in other fangames,
so it wasn't so bad that I hated it.

Avoidance of stage 5 is my favorite.
It's a simple, old-fashioned barrage and not too difficult.
There are some innovative features that I enjoyed, such as the placement of Miku in the upper left corner and the large size of the apples due to the screen size.
Basically enjoyed the last boss as well.
It was annoying the last attack was very narrow and long.

Overall, I personally enjoyed this game more than Unknown because the bosses were inspired by touhou and were all about barrage.
The platforming isn't terrible, so I'd recommend it who wants to play a classic but slightly unusual fangame.

Animism is a 7 stage adventure-ish game that is front-loaded with some of the worst content you could imagine in a fangame. And while the back half does have some interesting ideas, it also suffers from some of the same problems that infest the first half, albeit to a lesser extent.

The first thing you'll notice is that this is not a regular resolution for a fangame. Indeed, the game is played in a 640x480 format, and everything was made to take that into account. This is probably the most interesting thing in terms of production this game has to offer: everything else is very default tiles, cherry bosses and minimal graphic work.

Since this game starts off with the bad instead of the good, I'll mention the bad first too: the first 3 stages in this game are some of the worst fangame content I've played in a long while. Every save has around a dozen traps which just consist of unreactable flying spikes. And these are small screens, too. You're basically dealing with more than 1 trap per jump on average, and there's 0 creativity to these. It's like someone saw a Carnival fangame and decided to just take all the stuff that people don't like about those games, and make it even worse, and then just put it everywhere. Even for me, it's pretty unbearable. This trapfest does continue through the game afterwards but to a lesser and more bearable extent, with at least an amount of creativity sometimes.

If you can stomach the first 3 stages, then the game does have some interesting content to offer. Stage 4 introduces some enemies and centers the stage around dealing with those, Stage 5 has a gimmick where you have a limited number of inputs, and Stage 6 has various types of cherries that you have to shoot to move in unique ways to open paths. The limited number of inputs stage was very enjoyable with funny traps and a well-used concept, and the other 2 stages weren't bad either. And as a whole, every boss in this game was pretty enjoyable too. Most of them are simple cherry bosses with a single attack but the patterns are pretty Touhou inspired and are fun to dodge, so I don't mind the lack of diversity too much. Stage 5 also has an avoidance which is nearly entirely pattern.

At the end of the day though, the first half of the game is just completely unredeemable. It's a shame since the second half isn't bad, but it's not worth trying to fight your way there. Wouldn't recommend this one.
