Patch 1.11 : https://www.mediafire.com/file/25exqmwuxzi8w1e/I_wanna_Eclipse_ver_1.11.zip/file
more framerate issues fixed since 1.1
Things to note:
make sure you don't just copy the exe since there's more stuff in the music folder (doesn't apply if you're just going from 1.1 to 1.11)
A boss intro is now skippable once beaten
Another boss intro can be shortened with S and the intro attack is now a bit less annoying hopefully
Final boss changes (not exactly nerfed, but hopefully less unfair)
Framerate should not drop anymore
other minor changes
I'm leaving the 1.02 link up if you prefer the old version of bosses (and if this is somehow broken)
Patch 1.02

Really great adventure game for players of intermediate or advanced skill level.
I Wanna Eclipse really pushed my boundaries as a player, and I enjoyed it immensely.
Whole game consists of several stages with varying slowly introduced gimmicks and some well-produced bosses, but what really struck me is attention to design of each section, of each save. Each save is its own challenge, almost never repeating, making you adapt each time you make some progress.
On top of it, game got great production value with well chosen music and graphics, making it easy on the eyes.
My only two small gripes are a small camera bug in the sideways gravity area, and lack of a pause menu.
Play this game. Or don't, I'm not your dad. I spend like 8 hours because I'm bad, but it was worth it.

The 1.01 version was very fun,But 1.11 version better than 1.01.
Many Gimmicks and Beautiful Scene,Needle Stage wasn't too hard.
And fixes details and Strengthened The Last Boss,Increased game fun.
Regretfully,Not Complete Avoidance.

3.5 years worth of work and I'm really impressed that someone had the patience to work for such a long time.
That said let's talk about the game. Eclipse is one of the most beautiful game I have played, with neat hand-drawn tiles and background. Same goes for sprites, bosses and your character are beautiful and have some insanly fluent animations.
But yeah as you see, I rate it "only" 9 because the gameplay is more a mixed bag. I mean, I love snowy mountain area for exemple but I found submarin stage a bit borring, with a gimmick that I didn't like. I feel that for one thing I loved, there is another thing I like less. Also, the fact that you need to seek for required secrets bothered me a bit because you sometimes have to replay an entire area to get them (and also the concept of a required secret is really weird). For bosses, they are mostly good but first, a lot of them have a small unskippable cutscene. And second, most of them are good but not excellent, nor very memorable (except maybe Him).
There are also some traps, and I didn't like them, I feel they don't add anything to the game.
And last, the game is very buggy. I encountered many bugs, only a few were really annoying but it bothered me a bit.
(also if your computer is a toaster, the game will lag a lot)
In conclusion, the game is of course great, I just don't consider it as a masterpiece as a lot of people do.

First off, the game looks great and is almost all original art. Huge props to that. Unfortunately, the gameplay doesn't quite live up to that. The platforming has some cool gimmicks and several fun parts, but a lot of annoyance and really bad traps. The beginning of the game is quite fun, but the middle section, starting at the mountain, starts to feel pretty unpleasant. The bosses feel really cool, but are mostly annoying to play. The big offenders are the wizard and the robot, both of which felt very unfun. Fort Ferdinand is the best platforming in the game, making true end feel like a major step up. The final boss is alright, but still suffers from some awkward attacks. Also, both the robot and final boss would benefit greatly from checkpoints. Overall, the game is worth playing, but expect some serious rough patches.

I think this is one of the most well-produced adventure fangames visually if not the most so. Every aspect of this game is literally stunning and serves as a showcase of what someone can achieve with custom visuals they spend dozens (probably hundreds) of hours working on. And it all comes together pretty nicely, making a very solid game indeed, but I do take issues with some of the actual gameplay segments that I felt necessary to mention in case they can help with future works.
First, the whole secret thing is cool, but only when they aren't required for the real ending of the game. At least in my playthrough, nothing really seemed to hint which stage you can find which item in once you unlock the teleport (unless I missed a hint), so it did come down to using a video to find them. I wish there was more of a tell to this item hunt, similar to NANG's glitched text on screens with secrets because otherwise, it makes getting True End quite a slog. That's also important to me because I felt as if True End was the best part of the game platforming-wise. Few other complaints come from many of the stages feeling almost too "similar" to each other, there are so many crushers and spike blocks and spinning pinwheels that make the saves kind of just do the same thing. There are also pretty weird segments using the gimmicks, and the V6 one was particularly unsavory to use almost entirely.
Despite those issues, the game still won me over. The final stage is truly what won me over though, I was not a zoom-in fan throughout the game until this area and it completely sold me on it. It's probably one of the best platforming stages I've done in a fangame. I can't even imagine the amount of effort put in to make this game as beautiful as it is, but man it must be more than what I gave in college. It's definitely elegant enough to showcase as a flagship title for incoming Fangamers interested in some great games.
Highly recommend it, well done Gwiz.

I have very little qualms with this game but too few to mention. A great game throughout with very nice art style and fantastic music. I really liked the pirate boss because of the music and wizard boss was really great too.
Also all of the traps are actually really funny which is a pleasant surprise.

I Wanna Eclipse is one of those games which needs no description. If you're reading this review, you've almost certainly already played the game and either love it or are disappointed with it. For my part, I don't entirely love it despite this supposed two sides I've presented, but I do really, really like it!
If ever there was a game in which passion has been made physical, Eclipse is that game. Everything is self-made, visually, and even a few songs were composed by ol' gwiz themselves, and these two salient facts alone earn the game a lot of respect from myself and most everyone else in the community. Of course, respect alone isn't enough to make a game good, so it's lucky for Eclipse that it's also a damn fine game on top of that. There is no game quite like Eclipse in mood nor in presentation. Gwiz has always had an especially peculiar aesthetic sense, one that I could only compare to wonderful in its unique-ness, but their styles are nothing alike so it feels a bit unnecessary. This mood of theirs has come to a head here in Eclipse, this being perhaps the perfect form of it.
So all told, why don't I like the game more?
A 7.5 is no low score, to be sure, but so many people tout this as one of if not their absolute favorite fangame. Naturally it doesn't have to be as such for me, but I did expect to like it a bit more than I do. The trouble here is that I can't exactly pinpoint what about it doesn't take the game to the next level for me. I didn't dislike anything in the game, though the robot boss is a bit irritating and would be worse were it not for the excellent virtual boy section, and there was a decent amount of stuff that I truly loved, such as the screenwrapping stage or the gravity stage; yet, the cohesive package just doesn't feel as good to me as it does in the moment-by-moment one. While I'm playing, I can really feel the genius of each stage, but by the end most of it has left me and I'm wondering whether or not I'm just missing something about it all.
Nonetheless, while the game is not a perfect ten or close to it for me, it is a game I recognize as being outright brilliant both in presentation and execution, just not quite for me.
