It has been done, the standard of magic tower games. One where you can't softlock or have the issues of optimizing your health. The enemies were fun to fight and the bosses were enjoyable. My only gripe is that only a few of the element guns are useful but most of them feel useless. But this is a demo, so I hope this gets extended on soon.

He made this in 6 days, what the hell.
This is a brilliant Magic Tower fangame that I think really sets a standard for how the genre should be done in Fangames, rather than having to reset each time you get hit to preserve optimal health, you instead have healers in the Tower so you can always turn back up to max health when you wish. Because of this, Defense actually feels way more relevant than how it feels in other IWBTG Magic Towers, and there's a lot less frustration as well because of it. I hope that anyone making another fangame in the Magic Tower style takes this new feature Pooks has into consideration because I think it would vastly improve them all.
Aside from that feature, the game is cool in general as well, such as a weapon-changing system in the form of elements, each being a different effect such as shooting faster, wider, or angled. It's not required to use if you prefer your regular gun, but it's neat to mess around with. There's also a variety of enemies, some of course seemingly inspired by NAMTG whilst others feel entirely unique. The final boss is also pretty cool, though I did think it was sort of weird since you don't get to attack in it. Overall the game is pretty short, but presumably, it might be more fleshed out if this ever gets a larger release, so I'm really excited and looking forward to that day.
Until then though, I highly recommend playing this Demo, because it's pretty damn awesome!

A nice, short little magic tower style game with a cool metroidvania-style twist where you gain elemental weapons along the way. It's also got a few other neat things, like the ability to slide on the ground and "checkpoint" blocks that heal you to full health. The latter is especially useful, as anyone who's played a magic tower game knows that you usually have to reset on every enemy until you kill it without taking any hits. Not here though!

Extremely impressive for being made in 5 days. A magic tower game with no softlocks and heal blocks that allow you to go through every enemy without worrying about how much damage they do. The platforming is nothing special and the enemies are all really simple, but this was a charming experience.
As a note, I found most of the guns to be pretty useless and if this game gets expanded I would like to see them rebalanced. I’d also love to see the slide feature get utilized more often!
