Excellent needle game that incorporates basic gimmicks into the platforming competently. It looks good and plays well—for the most part. I have a few complaints, namely the rather precise manoeuvres that serve as an introduction, of sorts, to each gimmick, particularly vines. I also feel that some jumps are just a bit too tight, making it feel as though saves were reduced to those jumps, to the exclusion of all else.
However, make no mistake: this is a stellar game at its core. The pure needle sections felt very smooth, to the point where I wish there was more of that. I didn't even mind the trigger segments—and liked some of them, which is a rarity for me.
Difficulty does escalate to begin with, though this changes once the main area—quite CN3-inspired—is reached. A couple segments seemed too easy to feel at all satisfying to complete, while only a couple segments really stood out as more challenging than the rest. I think the final save of the game may pose players a challenge, especially for those whose skill is on par with the game's difficulty, rather than above. I cleared rather quickly, but I also first-tried a decent chunk of it when I probably shouldn't have. Less experienced players, I'm afraid, might get shut down here.
I would recommend Follow the Faded Memories to almost every needle player at a high-intermediate skill level and above.

There were a few saves that were pretty jank, particularly the one where you have to grab a jump refresher as it respawns, but overall very impressive for a first game from the maker. Shows that you can still get plenty of mileage out of standard engine objects.

This is the most comfortable Need Game I have played in the past few months, and I am surprised to see Ywave's Need design talent. I hope she can make a better next game

While it's a decent attempt, the game is really flawed and it's easy to see as I only remember how awful some parts were (seriously, the credits made me remember the existence of some stages). Also the cn3 inspiration is way too copy-pasted to be anything.

Had some strange bugs but I guess they are all fixed so yeah it is a worth-trying needle game.
