renex² engine but with 10,000 extra gimmicks, some taken from the DLDC version, some taken from other places, some original
i apologize if this review is off-topic at times but i feel like this modification is representative of a few problems, both within r2e and within the wider community
as one of the maintainers of the original engine, i'm honestly happy to see people use and build upon it, though to be honest a lot of the additions aren't that useful and only really serve to add yet more bloat to an engine whose #1 common complaint is bloat
as a medleyhead myself, i appreciate the addition of common medley tools like titlecards, warnings, etc, though i fear this'll probably just contribute to the "standardization" of the medley genre, when what that genre truly needs right now is innovation, someone to take needle screens and bosses and do something original with them, K3+ and modern Happil 2 got close, but still very much stayed within the limiting 'needle mindset'
that being said, i appreciate the fact that effort was indeed put into this, that it's not just a lazy copy of the DLDC edition, and japanese character support is also a great feature

This was the engine used for the upcoming DLDC game, and I made a stage for it with this. This is some great stuff! The included gimmicks let you do some neat stuff even if you don't have any coding experience, and it's very easy to use the engine once you figure out GM8.2. The autotiler is also very handy, as you can use it to playtest and modify screens easier without having to redo the tiles or even skip the tiling process altogether if your tiles are simple enough. I'm definitely using this if I make any fangames in the future!

My personal favorite engine. Full of awesome features, friendly for first time fangame creators, a lot of customization. Overall I would definitely recommend.

[ENG]A modified Renex² Engine.
A variety of things have been added, including ports from various engines, gimmicks and enemies that appear in games from Nintendo and SEGA, and things that appear in the original (IWBTG).
I was a little surprised when a video started playing when I first started it up, but it seems that a function from Game Maker 8.2 Video was used.
By the way, holding F will speed up the game, and holding G will slow it down. (By the way, this function to change the game speed can only be used in debug mode.)
Also, since the mbText script is included in the engine, it seems that Japanese can be used.

いろんなエンジンからの移植や、NintendoやSEGA等のゲームにでてくるようなギミックや敵、本家(IWBTG)にでてくるもの等、様々なものが追加されています。
最初、起動したらビデオが流れたので少し驚いたのですが、どうやらGame Maker 8.2 Videoの機能を使ったらしいです。
ちなみに、Fをホールドするとゲームスピードが速くなり、逆にGをホールドするとゲームスピードが遅くなります。(ちなみにこのゲームスピードを変える機能を使えるのはデバッグモードのみです)
あと、mbTextスクリプトがエンジンに入っているので日本語が使えるようです。
