If you like the usual Stella jtool needle then you already know what to expect: water grabs, vine jumps, "islands" layouts, pathing with vine and platform setups, using vines to slow your falling speed, colorful visuals and "CardCaptor Sakura"-style music. The difficulty curve slowly progresses from beginner to veteran, with a couple outlier difficulty spikes. There's this one rough save in the middle where it's almost better to skip it and go directly to the next save, because if you start from said save you have to jump out of a t-bone, which is really awkward, and redo part of the previous save anyway, but aside from that (and vine jumping from/into 16px gaps, which is a personal skill issue), the gameplay does flow smoothly, and even the harder saves in the last third, while long and challenging, felt very rewarding to slowly improve at and clear.
I think I was also fortunate to play this game at the right time, so it was hard enough to push me to improve but not so hard it became too frustrating. I'd say if you can clear needle around the difficulty of Vandal, you can enjoy Frolic and Frisk (and you should probably also touch grass! )
