Cool visual effects and recommended for those not interested in grinding Sunspike's IA. Still, the covers of the song are awful and this exercise is ultimately downright pointless.

For: I wanna Relax with Needle
Decent visuals, good production value and even better level design. Relaxing main theme goes along with the required platforming. Save distribution is whatever; there are a couple of extremely short saves and other require you to beat more than half the screen, and yet other ones require you to go deathless for many screens. It must be a trademark of the series, but it doesn't necessarily work for the best, especially where there are trivial screens in these instances if you die.
It's rather short, but worth experimenting with it.

For: I Wanna Ascend The Christmas Tree
This game is mostly built off two gimmicks, dashing horizontally and grappling onto candy canes, and these are great mechanics. They make for a lot of interesting and tricky situations that feel great to learn and execute. The boss at the end is kinda the culmination of this, although I had some minor issues learning the fight, it was a bit awkwardly precise to me and sometimes unclear exactly how you died which made the learning process a bit cumbersome, but it is very fun to actually play once getting that down, so it's really not a big issue.

There's tons of variety in this game considering it's just four sections, they are completely different and while some aren't all that in depth like teleporting around Xynchrome randomly, it's really fun. The highlight is probably the crossword, super cute idea.

I absolutely loved the any% of this game, the gimmick is so fun and intuitive and the screens are all so creative and fun to execute, the visuals are beautiful, if it would only be for that I would give it 9.5/10.
But then you get to the... (I'll completely spoiler the second half of the game just in case) puzzles that you have to figure out, I honestly didn't like them much because it just kills off the flow of the game, and some of the puzzles didn't make much sense to me, especially red sign.
The secret item rooms are all memeish which I honestly don't like because it just kills off all seriousness just for the sake of being somewhat funny, which to me it isn't.
And then you get to the spot the difference part which I found to be absolutely brilliant because I noticed about the differences while I was playing the game normally, the thing I absolutely hate about it is the way the controls are handled, you are supposed to use pause to spot them?????? Why??? It could've been handled any other way, like shooting instead of pausing, it just doesn't make sense to me.
The last stage is pretty good, no complains there.
And lastly I didn't like the last boss much, it's not hard but some of the attacks have very annoying RNG, they can become a little bit frustrating.
Kinda sad about this because it just feels like I played two separate games, and while I loved the first half I didn't like the second half much.
I still recommend because the game is really good and super fun.
