After replaying it 2 years later, my opinion on it hasn't changed a lot. Over the top production and visuals but average gameplay. Stage 1 and 2 are enjoyable but from stage 3 is starts to introduce more and more annoying stuff. A bit better than what I remembered but still average.

A good needle with some creative gimmicks, but I feel there wasn't necessary sometimes and could have been replaced with the normal corresponding gimmick. There is also a shitty avoidance at the end

For the makers first game, this is pretty ok. It's a needle game with an avoidance at the end.
Needle uses some simple gimmicks based around shooting squares that do different things. I like the ideas but the platforming used with these is kinda simple, and it feels like you could have done some more creative stuff. Sometimes it felt like you could have the normal version of the gimmicks, and the shooting part didn't really matter. Some saves are good, some are meh, and theres like 2 or 3 annoying saves.
Avoidance is really annoying, attacks are simple but a lot of times the rng is just awful and it gets really annoying, especially when some of the awful rng attacks happen while you are upside down.
Two more incoveniences with the avoidance:
-The big cherry moving around shooting rng explosions in one of the first attacks: It can shoot explosions with a really dark color, which is really bad since the background is black and they are barely visible. Some people might have lots of trouble with this.
-The last attack will be an instagib depending on where you are. If you want to avoid an awful death Stay up when you think the avoidance will end (song makes it obvious)
Hopefully, maker's next games will be better, there's a lot of potential. :)
