Long before the off parties, shiny sparks, Gravity Man fights and Idolmasters there existed this game by eden that was soon forgotten about. Maybe it could be due to the outrageous difficulty or better games that overshadowed this game around the time it came out. When I first saw this game on the list of games made by eden I wondered what this game was about because for the longest time this game had a poor rating with a 90 difficulty rating before it was removed by the reviewer. What got me to play this game was because I had nothing else to do and suddenly remembered this game existed, and what really got me interested to play this was the lack of videos uploaded/a proper playthrough of this game.
For a game this old you would expect it to be hot garbage, and to that I say you would be correct; though it depends on who you ask. For most people its a big mess of bad ideas with a worse execution and give up one minute after they started playing the first stage. For me I've played enough sudoku games to have witnessed the worst of what fangames have to offer, so I came in with the feeling of fear and also determination.
Also, if you're worried about the NSFW rating: The game itself is fine to play, just don't enter the rightmost warp on the clear screen.
This game has 3 stages, and beating all three of them unlocks the final avoidance that you must defeat to clear the game. While playing through them I absolutely feel that eden vibe that is also present in his later games where everything has to be unnecessarily difficult both in the platforming and bosses.
The left stage consists of 2 screens mainly about precise fruit cycles and a few backtracks. The easiest way for me to get the cycles is to time it based on the music (this will be very helpful for the right stage), and after I figured it out the hardest thing for me ended up being the platforming itself. There is a trap at the end of the second screen which is made way more precise than it should be due to how the top Yayoi doll spawns. The boss in this stage is a big Yayoi doll that hunts you down with some Wario Land music accompanying the boss, which should make it rather obvious that this is based on GB. Compared to the other bosses in this game this boss gets easier the longer you play it, as the hardest thing about this boss is actually the platforming itself and how you kill the boss in time before she walls you. It ends off with a choke drop which I thankfully first tried.
The middle stage looks super scary as it gives you no saves for the entire stage, until you start collecting the tokens and warp back to the hub. Every token you collect lets you skip most of a screen until you get to the new screen where you need to beat the entire screen to collect the token. The third screen is the classic eden needle screen that shows up in his later games. It ends off with a simple yet deadly screen littered with random offscreen traps that will get you if you aren't aware of them. Out of the three stages this one contains the most pure needle.
The right stage is where eden decides to go mask off and truely tests your skills in reading patterns. Thank god the bouncing in the first half of the stage is entirely pattern otherwise this would have been absolute hell to beat. Like with the first stage the longer you've spent on a save the easier the patterns become once you figure them out. I'd say the hardest part of the platforming before the boss is the end of the first save, as it forces you to climb up on platforms while dodging hard fruit patterns not once but twice. Now for the boss itself, which I will confidently say is the hardest part of the entire game. Once again Yayoi returns, and she has three phases. Every phase has the boss move in a different path that you slowly have to learn before you can start hitting her consistently. While all phases are pretty much pattern, the timing of her attacks and the directions she shoots at you make it very hard to learn. The last phase is incredibly long and dense, and the smallest mistake in your movement or timing could lead to disaster. Before this the only video of this boss was by Doruppi, and if that video didn't exist I would have taken hours on this or I even would have given up.
Beating all three stages unlocks the final avoidance which is probably the one thing most people know about this game, as its the second part of the final boss in master mode of IDOLM@ster.
Its nowhere as hard as in that game, but its still as difficult as the stuff you've beaten before it. Its mostly about RNG reading with a few patterns here and there (mainly the big exploding fruits and the gray lines that launch towards you). The avoidance tends to be more unfair than fair in the first half, but the second half after the red bouncing fruit is way more skill than luck based in my opinion. The final attack is absolutely wild and I'm very happy that I only died there twice or otherwise it would have taken me hours if I kept dying there. If you know eden he loves to put traps at the end of bosses, and here is the debut of that tradition. The very end of the avoidance has a trap where a bunch of Yayoi dolls launch towards you and if you aren't prepared for it you will most certainly die to it. Overall its another challenging boss that I expected after beating the rest.
You made it to the end! On the clear screen there are some warps. The left warp brings you back to the hub. The top warps bring you to altered versions of the bosses with some small changes that aren't really worth your time as it doesn't give you anything for it. The right warp has a NSFW image so watch out for that.
While the majority of this game has some very questionable or dated design choices theres still some cool stuff to be found, hence why I gave it a 4 and not lower. I would only recommend it for the best Sudoku players or those who are curious about eden's games, otherwise I'd stay away.

No difficulty rating because I haven't cleared it.
This game has 3 paths that are all hard and all terrible. Do not recommend.
