A good fangame that has pretty fun bosses. This game is a bit buggy though, so consider that a warning. Other than that I don’t really see why everyone hates this one.

If you're here, then you're probably looking for the famous/infamous Kamilia series of fangames or looking for the fangame that started the Medley genre. This one being the original should be somewhat good right? Wrong.
I would like to start by explaining what a "Medley" fangame is: A Medley fangame is a fangame that takes screens from other fangames to make this compilation/anthology of interesting/cool rooms from other games. With that said let's go ahead and see why the original Kamilia is not a very good fangame.
I wanna kill the Kamilia 1 is one of the glitchiest fangames I've ever played. I've heard (I don't know if it's true) that this game was made with an engine that didn't have blocks just collision walls. So the creator had to create lots of stuff for the game to work. Thanks to this engine you can expect this to happen once or twice in your run:
-Phasing through some walls.
-Getting stuck on platforms
-Losing your second jump for no apparent reason
-Skipping levels. (This makes it really interesting to speedrun)
Even if all these technical problems exist, these aren't the main reasons has to why this game is bad. I would even like to add that some if not most of those I pointed out happened very rarely.
The graphics are pretty bad IMO but it's understandable has it is one of the first fangames. I've also seen a lot of people criticising the fact that the music restarts when you die but not when you restart before dying; that also being a problem with the engine but we gotta remember that the original IWBTG also did have restarting music. Also there's a HUGE volume problem with this game, some of the songs are way too loud while some other you will not even hear them. Also the jingle for Stage 2 completed is so loud it baffles me.
Now going for a more important part, the platforming, the fangames/rooms chosen, the bosses and the difficulty curve.
Platforming is alright there isn't really anything too hard as Kamilia 3 and outside of the technical issues I would say it's alright.
The rooms chosen are not good, but not horrible. Some of them feel very generic and unfun.Fangames chosen are shown at the end of the game, so if you want to know where that certain room is from you better finish the game and remember the number of the room it was. There's also some korean letters every room, but I can't read them so if they say what the fangame is just ignore this point.
The difficulty curve is good. Starts really easy (stage 1 and stage 2) and then goes to somewhat challenging towards the end. Again nothing as absurd as Kamilia 3.
Bosses feel... really weird and uninspired. Sometimes they feel that there's just too many different characters, sometimes there's just 3 enemies. Any boss that has the spaceship can be glitched (also the worst bosses).
The final boss is pretty fun though and probably the only reason you should check this one out. It has genuinely fun patterns to evade and original attacks. Very satisfying boss overall.
Overall I would say that this game has aged really poorly, don't get baited by the Kamilia name, Kamilia 2 and 3 are not even made by the same person. Just skip this one and play Kamilia 2 instead.

The first medley game as I'm sure others have pointed out by now. Its filled with holes gaps glitches and soft locks. If you can get through all that you can see the game had some effort put in just needed a bit (a lot) of refinement. That being said it started something great and from there we will always be thankful. Most people say its not worth playing I think it is. The platformings pretty standard and the last boss isn't something to scoff at.

Just don't play. Don't let the name "Kamilia" let you think this is a good game

This game...oh boy. I can't completely hate it, since it did spawn K2 and K3, two of my favorite fangames, but...this one sucks. I can't lie. Most of the screens are absolute garbage, even when the games they take from have much better screens (read: Conquer the Blow). Stages 1 and 2 have no challenge, and 3 is quite a leap, especially the Magic Girl screen. Boss 3 is a bit tricky, but still not that much of a challenge. Then, the game picks up a bit. The fourth stage is only harder by a fraction, but Geezer is a huge leap in difficulty from the third boss. Fortunately, you get a save in the middle...so long as you don't go to the title screen or quit the game. Nice one. Truthfully, the only thing keeping Geezer from being piss-easy is the Gradius phase, and only then because of the yellow apples that create more in a spiral. Next is stage 5, which is only five screens long. The last one is Brute, but there are about 3 times as many saves and no save blockers, meaning the hardest thing here is a double corner. Solgryn was almost fun, but the "boss rush" (Sadist's bee and GR's second boss) just didn't need to be there. I quite enjoyed the Gradius segment in this boss, though, so props to OyO for that. Finally, M-stage. It's nothing. It's just blocks with a stupid spotlight gimmick. However, the final boss is where this game peaks. It starts with references to the earlier stages, even changing the backgrounds. Then, you get a save, and you have an infjump segment where you dodge spikes and bullets thrown in fancy patterns until you and Kamilia fall out of the sky and into the ocean, where your journey into the sequel begins.
Overall, this game could have been decent, but the production value is just too terrible to make it enjoyable. Again, I do have to give it credit for spawning medley games, since I do enjoy those quite a bit.
