I made this in about a night to see what I could accomplish in gamemaker. It's a short game, kinda messed up, and very odd. I wouldn't recommend it. The platforming is kinda fun, though.

By the way, I also had a secret where if you press "I" while standing on top of the i at the top of the tower, it makes a funny sound and you get a text file to congratulate you. Dunno what I was thinking when I put that in. I was probably playing too much Fez.

By the way, klazen, while remixing this game, I found out that the reason for your bug was that I accidentally placed 2 warps in the same spot, and one had uninitialized teleport coordinates, making you go to a spot which is coincidentally inside a block.

So I loaded the game up to take some screenshots. This game is no-frills, just platforming. There's a cube up at the top of the screen, that always stays out of reach as you ascend the tower, laughing at your pitiful attempts... oh god the laughter...

Made it up to the first set of deadly objects, and fell into one. Unexpectedly, I instantly teleported back to the ground behind me. It took me a few minutes to get used to not pressing R after I died (and you DO NOT want to press R - it sends you all the way back to the bottom, essentially starting over... why not disable it if we can't use it?)

After a while I got into the groove of things, and it was actually enjoyable. I was making good pace, until I reached one spot in particular. Shortly after a set of 3 F-Jumps, you have to jump over a moving killer block to the left, and then over that block again back to the right to go up. Turns out if you hit this block in a certain way, it teleports you to the top left of the room, trapping you there until you press R. Sending you all the way back to the start. Not fun. I traveled all the way back up to that spot, only to have it happen again. I would have rated this game closer to a 7 or so if it wasn't broken, but I can't really recommend it as it is now.

This fangame has a very interesting gimmick: The 'Death' teleporters. They work like spikes, but their hitbox is different and you respawn automatically when one of them hits you (Each teleporter teleports you to a specific checkpoint, so it's like having invisible saves through the whole game). Hitting them won't count as a death, as well. They also give a whole different look to this game. The level design is great, the graphics are great, the difficulty curve is fairly well-placed and it's somewhat difficult even though you can't die. My only complaints are that the game closes right after you beat it, and that if you press 'R' by mistake, you'll respawn at the beginning of the game.
The game is also somewhat short, but since being longer might ruin the game, it's OK as it is. Would recommend to anyone.

This is actually a rather fun short work that has a great feeling of atmosphere in it and some decent platforming. I really like the gimmick of teleporters being used instead of spikes, it makes the segment feel fun. I do think this has potential and would like to see it in a longer work as a more fleshed out idea.
