Apparently my original review wasn’t up to delfruit literary standards so here we go.
Friendly needle is a needle game made by Jimbo435, it is their first ever game uploaded on the site and a very impressive first game at that. It starts you in a standard room where you can either pick difficulty or load your save file. Sadly, there is only one difficulty level which is unfortunate for people who perhaps would one day like to flex their ability to defeat this needle game with 0 deaths.
This game is a fairly standard Intelligent Quotient needle game, where at every jump your mental ability is somehow challenged in some shape or form. It’s very enjoyable throughout even with the immense difficulty spike in the final screen. The jumps consist of very tight no bonk jumps making the player abscond from their treacherous fulljumping mannerisms. In fact I for one appreciate the game and the maker heavily for assisting me in escaping my filthy old habits.
The music in the game (bar the final screen) is quite definitively a symphony and adds a lot to the players experience. Sending shivers through my previous self by activating my nostalgic senses as the song gives you an odd sense of feeling of home, a truly great choice of song by Jimbo. Unfortunately, the final screen does not have the same form of effect on me or anything near that. The music of that screen is just padded filler which takes away from the experience that the first “stage” gave to me. Which is quite saddening considering that specific screen is where the game truly shines.
The visuals of this game are nothing to adore which is honestly understandable for Jimbo’s first game. The first few screens use the base I Wanna Be The Guy tile set which is not by any means an abhorrent visual but definitely isn’t the most original attempt at visuals I have ever seen. However, the final screen has a very minimalistic tile set which are appealing to look at and I wish more makers would take the initiative to use a simpler tile set as sometimes a lot of games tend to have a noisier aesthetic.
The game achieved what it’s set out to do and that is be a needle game. It’s just needle, around 5 screens of relatively tough needle. I enjoyed it, but, it’s just needle.
Overall, Friendly Needle is a great needle game which pressures the player into using their brain to contemplate how to do certain jumps. This is not by any means an easy endeavour. The name and the type of needle truly collaborate as the needle is attacking you thoroughly where as behind its mask of pure evil, it’s only intent is to make you stronger mentally and as a player. At the end of the game you realise that needle is not an enemy but in fact is a friend, out to assist you in this cruel world that is Fangames.
Jimbo truly showed what they're capable of whilst making this game and I’m excited to see what they’ll do in the future. Congratulations Jimbo. Congratulations.
The extra in this game is completely sublime and that’s all the knowledge I need to reveal. Do the extra.

Not really my cup of tea. It had some original jumps but the difficulty curving was horrible. The backgrounds weren't really pleasant to look at and it ends abruptly after the second stage with a stupid warp that crashes the game when you touch it.

Surprisingly(?) well-designed easier needle, with a lot of fun jumps and neat ways to progress through saves. I just wish it were longer.
There appears to be an elaborate sequence of hidden blocks on the clear screen leading to a portal, but I didn't have the patience to memorize it all and find out where said portal actually leads.

5 screens of needle. Starts with default tiles but has nice relaxing needle music. Its got a lot of creative jumps, but some of them are annoyingly precise but the shorter saves mitigates the impact of that. Ends kind of abruptly after switching to a new tileset.
