I liked the second half more than the first. Not sure what engine this uses but it felt really bad, like a third of the kid's animation frames weren't being shown. It made the platforming harder, and more grindier, than it needed to be.
The pathing is very simple, with only the last save being tricky. The rest is straightforward, and fairly fun.
There were too many diagonals, and a couple of annoying diamond-esque jumps that made the player play the 2-frame lottery. These hampered my enjoyment.

One of those games where trying to figure out how to get to the next save is a puzzle by itself. A very fun puzzle though.
