Heartfelt Melody was a pleasant little surprise to me. Most of it is not fantastic, with pretty generic platforming for this kind of game, but there are a few spots that make it really stick out. First is the picross boss. If you like puzzles, the game might be worth playing just for this. It manages to feel hectic without actually being too hard on the dodging side, letting the picross shine. The second standout is the horror themed area, which does a good job of creating a suspenseful and legitimately creepy atmosphere, something not accomplished by most similar ventures in fangames. The game also features a Mario RPG themed stage, which is pretty forgettable but has a neat boss (although it does have some ear-splitting sound effects that make me question the dev's sanity) There's also a final stage that doesn't have anything going for it, making me wish the game ended on the horror stage. The final boss is alright, but pretty uninspired.
Overall, this is a weird case where most of the game is nothing special (although not necessarily bad), but a couple of things are so phenomenal that I absolutely would recommend the game.

Heartfelt Melody is a pretty neat adventure game with both rough design and interesting segments intertwined.
About half of it is saves with obnoxious traps, but the other half contains stuff like a Mario RPG-themed area with a bit of a minigame. Of the three bosses, one of them is sure to stick out quite a lot since it requires you to solve 3 picross puzzles in the middle of it, making it pretty enjoyable. There's also a bit of a horror area after the two stages you can pick from, but it's not particularly that upsetting.
Would recommend.

Pretty nice little adventure game with some basic traps thrown in. You begin in an area with some really easy platforming and traps, making your way to a room with 2 worlds to choose from.
Each stage ends with a boss, one is a standard fight, and the other is a minesweeper-like game where you're filling in squares according to given numbers to form a picture. Most of my total play time was spent beating that boss. Maybe I was just bad at it, but the last puzzle it has you complete gave me some trouble for a while. If you guess wrong too many times, you get to do the first 2 puzzles over again. I didn't hate it, it added a unique twist to the game, but it also felt really out of place from everything else.
After completing those 2 worlds, you gain access to the final stage which features more traps and a creepy atmosphere. The final boss is pretty straightforward, but I had fun with it. If you like trap games that don't get too frustrating, I'd recommend giving this one a shot.

I was very surprised by this game, it's rare a fangame this easy is this captivating, but with simple but charming traps and interesting stages with quite a bit of variety, this game easily stands out among many easier fangames. The picross boss is probably the highlight, it's very fun and intense, but there's other cool things like the entire SMRPG stage, the only weak point is maybe some more boring saves in the final area, but besides that I don't really have any other complaints, this game is great for what it is, and one of my favorite fangames I could recommend to a beginner.
