8 saves that progressively get harder. First 4 or 5 saves are basically nothing, and the final save is still way, way harder than everything else.
Wasn't a fan of saves 6 and 7, but save 8 is one of my favorite hard saves I've played.

Messed up needle. Honestly, this is probably the worst standalone needle i've played among the very hard ones. I will explain why. Take a not that i'm not liking putting straightforward negative reviews on the games, however this is my only way to redeem suffering that i had from playing this. So generally speaking needle can be viewed from few sides: gameplay, balance, atmosphere. Even if game fails at something, it can be good at another obviously. So let's look at this game from all of this checkmarks:

-Gameplay. Just bunch of claustrophobic jumps. I don't think there was at least one enjoyable or remarkable in good way jump in this game. They are all similar and they are all sucks ass. This game also overutilizes 16px to the point average save has several of them, and honestly - also not a great design. Also a lot of low jumps in uncomfortable setting. Also drops that feels very random. Some saves occasionaly has triggers, which are pretty dull and not memorable at all as well

-Balance. Non-existing. Early saves are insanely easy, then game becomes way harder and then it peaks with extremely difficult last save, which is so hard, that all previous saves looks like a joke. So the thing is balance can be handled differently - sometimes having some easy stuff after hard stuff is refreshing, sometimes easy stuff before hard stuff can be nice setup. Here tho it's complete non-sense, and i absolutely don't get flow of how saves balanced. Game could probably be a way better if it has similar difficulty of saves if you ask me

-Atmosphere. While maker definitely aimed for that pseudo-horror cryptic atmosphere, i don't think it worked well. Visual design is too dark, making actually playing the game very uncomfortable, and music becomes annoying very fast

So after summarizing all of that, you can see that i absolutely didn't enjoy anything in this game. Not recommended at all

I wanna Scale the Red Needle is a needle game of 8 saves placed inside an ascending tower, in a style that is an unprecedented fusion of the extremely claustrophobic and cramped style with the modern freeform weaving engine-gimmick-heavy style to result in a game that asks for a long stream of inputs that require just enough precision that you have to be accurate and pay attention in every one without making anything too hard or meatgrindy. The needle and especially the style are the highlights of the game, providing a very unique needle experience that feels hard and hectic without actually requiring too much of the player, and is surprisingly easy to build consistency in. The difficulty curve is exponential, with all the difficulty coming from the final save, which is a giant banger and extremely fun to grind. The game has a spotlight effect, which when combined with the already dark screen results in difficulties in ascertaining future jumps in a save beyond the very next one, and the general darkness may cause strain when trying to execute precise setups, which occur infrequently throughout the game but don't take away from the freeform focus. Overall I will say that this game was a blast to grind and I am proud that it is my hardest clear at the time of writing this, and that it's a shame more people don't know of it. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serious needle challenge and isn't afraid of 16px or claustrophobic design.

A bit of a bumpy ride of a game, it's a short little needle game with some interesting jumps, although not every maneuver is the most fun thing in the world. In particular save 8 was a little frustrating, and in general the game is a bit heavy handed on the 16 pixels. Regardless it's fun enough, especially considering the needle is quite basic, with a smoother difficulty curve and maybe less weirdly claustrophobic design, I think it would be more fun, but as is it's fun enough, plus the visuals are cool looking!
