Some jumps gave me the impression that i would be stuck on them for a while, only to first try some of them. I spend the most time on the drop with two shurikens (which would be the only part i'd agree to nerf.. maybe), the rest is balanced fine.
I had fun which was only brought down by it's short length. The kid has no face.
Recommended!

For a game made in only 3 hours, it's pretty good. The last jumps of some saves were much harder than the rest of the save, and there were a few awkward turn-arounds, but overall, it was fun. Would recommend

Melancholia is a pretty enjoyable needle game. Most of the jumps I found to be enjoyable aside from the last jump in the last save. There are some very low jumps though, which I do enjoy sometimes. (Others probably like this kind of needle way less though.) In the first screen the first part autosaves you and there's no save to change the spot, which would've been fine if it wasn't for the awkward spot it autosaves you in.
The visuals are okay if it wasn't for the black background making me not able to see the kids feet. The music is kind of interesting. It has a bit of a dark theme going on. Unfortunately it's kind of awkward to listen to for longer times, since its mostly the same tune for the whole loop. Luckily it changes for every screen so it could've been way worse, but it still got a bit annoying.
Overall this game might be a bit mediocre, but I still enjoyed it none the less, hence the high-ish rating.

Pretty questionable; most of the jumps are more annoying than hard. The first save on the last screen opens with a jump that's most easily done with a 4f, for instance. Once you realize that, the beginning of the save is just a meat grinder as you accidentally do 3fs/5fs instead, since it's not worth bothering trying to do the jump any other way. There's also a jump on the second screen that's way easier to do with a cancel than the intended method, which I would also say is not really a great fit for this level of difficulty.

Overall the game feels very jerky, with some jumps/saves being absolutely free and others requiring just enough precision to make you groan. My advice to the author is to take a step back and think about what is required of the *player* - it can be easy to lose sight of the relative difficulty of any given jump sequence when you're the one designing and testing them, after all. A lot of the saves simply just don't really have anything to them once you get past the problematic jump sequences, too; it might be worth trying to design saves that are longer, but with less "sticking points." Also, cut down on the 16px gaps and corners.

The final save is extremely jank but kind of hilarious so I didn't mind it.
