The game is hard, but I have difficulty determining how hard it is exactly. All I can say is my playthrough lasted about an hour, though some of that time was spent on jumps I nerfed.
This game means quite a lot to me, so I can only hope the game is enjoyable to you all!
Current version = 1.02
1.02 - Nerfed saves 1 and 3, added save after 3.
1.01 - Bro just check the readme.
------
I won't talk at length about what The Sunken Cathedral means to me as I cover it in the readme, but I just wanted to add here that while this is an attempt at re-creating Magnificent Stumble to some degree, I did NOT want to 100% re-create Magnificent Stumble; instead, I wanted to give my take on the concept using the aspects of Hiddow's design that I felt no one else had utilized. In the end, I don't know how successful I was, but I was recently watching someone play through the game and saw them say that "Hiddow would NEVER make something like that" and it still pisses me off because Hiddow isn't the one that made the game, I did. When people try to make games inspired by notable releases, it's almost never such that they simply want to re-do what that notable release did, they want to put their own unique spin on it. All the same, you get so many people who look at those attempts to re-envision notable releases and just say "oh it's not 100% accurate, such and such maker wouldn't do such and such really minor thing," which they almost certainly are wrong about because they're not the maker themselves and as such can't even speak to that (some people can, I have faith that the person who said Hiddow wouldn't do something like something I did in my game is right as they are very much someone that should know despite not being Hiddow themselves), but much more importantly it completely misses the point.
When someone is inspired by someone or something else, they almost never seek to be the exact same as that someone or something else, they want to create their version of whatever that someone made. I was inspired by Magnificent Stumble, and I wanted to create a version of it on my own, something I think I was successful in doing. This is not a Magnificent Stumble clone, but that it isn't is not a failure but instead a success on my part to make it feel distinct from its inspiration.

first clear of this game i think?
excellent game. glad to see that this turned out the way it did.
The Sunken Cathedral is a Stumble-like game that takes mostly just the art style and some jumps are stumble inspired, but it's quite different from any other Stumble-like game. It hits you with a comical death, then it hits you with "Holy shit this save is long" but all in all, it made for a great experience. Even though it was only 16 screens it was very fun.
Definitely Recommended.

Great stumble-like that has an unique style of save, some of which are really struggle-heavy, and will exasperate you briefly with their length. This game was not very long, but it was very enjoyable. The precise jumps in this game feel great to pull off and I'd definitely recommend this as a bite-sized but difficult needle game.
The message of the game clearly means a lot to the author so I have nothing but respect for the intent of the game.

Pretty strong needle game, I feel like the way jumps just flow together in stumble and by extension games like it is extremely satisfying to me, and this game definitely captures that with it's own spin on it. It just feels really nice to play, there was maybe one jump in the entire game I thought was a little awkward but that's it. The game itself is quite beautiful in concept and has a simple but effective atmosphere, definitely a great tribute and a really good game overall.

Long Saves: The Game.
But really, I could have made do without two consecutive three-screen saves. Beyond that, there were a few gross jumps (e.g., a bonk downward diagonal into vine jump into 16-pixel gap) that were much more precise than the rest of the jumps, which made those screens particularly unpleasant.
I would bet the game is a lot more enjoyable for players well above the required skill level to beat each save.
Also, the first screen is significantly easier than some of the later ones.
Edit two months later: Played again for the second time. As predicted, now that I'm better, it felt more fun to play. Recleared three times quicker.

Pretty good game inspired by stumble (like all the thousand games like that). It gets better the more you play it so try pushing a bit even if you're not a fan of the beginning, also I have no idea why all this malding on the first save it felt fine to me and clearly not the hardest part of the game. There are a few jumps I wish they were less precise, but overall it was a cool experience.
