This game goes hard in many ways. If we speaks what is this game about: it's about needle and bosses. Needle is strange for adventure - it's just straightforward 6 needle stages with very rare spark of creativity. Epitome of this needle is final save in final stage, which is separated inverts that are basically required 5f bhop... Well, yeah, needle exists, for better or worse. I personally didn't find it fun or very hard or irritating, it's just goes and that's it

The main issue is bosses. So in their defense, bosses are definitely highlight of the game by far, in bosses you can feel maker put his soul. They are quite diverse and mostly decently done. First boss is some classic chill boss with apples. Second one is tough boy, very contact fight that demands some mind-fucking strategy to beat it. Third boss is mostly barrage (reminds me of NANG avoidance) with some shenanigans thhrough. Fourth boss is actual banger, chasing orb that will produce some fast-paced attacks at you. Fifth boss even more better, it's long and good somewhat of Destination-like fight, where giant construction will try to kill you with set of combined attacks

Before we going to expose final segment of the game, let me tell you about downpoint of this bosses. They are all like fun, but one exact thing spoils them. As many classic adventures, this also does unpleasant thing - it buffs bosses as fight goes on. And let me tell you, second phases (and even third phases) of the bosses are way more tougher than first one. So yeah, boring opening issue. And since bosses in this game are not easy, it will become big issue

Anyway, after final needle stage, you will encounter boss rush. It contains of four early bosses that are kinda remaded in style of Noesis grey worlds. To be honest, i was surpsised how good they are reworked, all of them basically feels like different bosses, which is like really good touch. First boss becomes way more dense and dangerous overall. Second boss deprivates of one very helping thing, which makes it more tough and requires even more clever strategies. Third boss tbh doesn't become that harder, but it becomes more luck-based, which is not great i guess. Forth boss on the other hand is insanely awesome - crazy fast pace of attacks, i have ton of fun, i think this is my favourite boss in the game and it was pretty good boss in general

And once you beat every of them, final challenge will appears, that is monstrous final boss. Let me tell you, i didn't expect it will be that fucking HARD. This boss not only has three different and difficulty phases, but it also requires you to be good at reading really dense RNG. And you know what, imo this boss was total banger. Visuals and music definitely has the best vibe in the game. In first phase boss will charge at you one of 6 (?) attacks over and over until you bring HP down to zero. Then it will start recover HP and while this you will need to avoid callbacks from previous bosses, which is pretty crazy cause a lot of them are multiple aiming and you will need to deal with it in limited space. But it will be not over after that. You will still need to overcome final phase, which is nothing less than hardest platform-type attack i've ever encounter. Screen will be full of big orbs, that will warps everywhere, and the platforms will not be stable, they are also RNG and you will need to choose your moments very wisely. Hitbox of boss is small and placed at top, so you will need to go up every time, which is never an easy task

As you can see, this fight is really goes hard. There's some hope tho, since you will granted by shield, that will endure 1 hit. It's definitely a nice touch from maker, this additional HP will help you to learn phase 2 at the beginning and then push you through way more attempts to phase 3 (i had like 6 attempts at phase 3 and only in one of them i have shield). The big problem tho is how fucking long all phases are, phase 1 lasts like 2+ minutes, than 1 minute of phase 2, and than God knows how long will be your winning phase 3 attempt. My lasts about 5 minutes, and let me tell you, i got really fucking lucky with RNG since i twice held out for long time while damaging him. So yeah, potential 10+ minutes fight. Combine all factors that i described to you and you will understand why i rate this boss only 3 points below K3 final boss

All in all, this was quite memorable experience. I can't say i love this game, but some moments here were actually awesome and hooked me in great way. Even despite doesn't have big production value you can feel maker tried to make something interesting here. I tho can't really recommend this game, but i feel like people should play this more, final boss really deserves more witnessers and clearers

Feel my hero is a hefty ... I'm going to say needleventure game with some serious bite and a lot of filler content, but a few shining points throughout. As it states in the readme, 7 stages and 10 bosses provides a solid amount of content.

Production wise, its simplistic but competent, does the bare minimum but never creates a problem with it, and looks pleasant enough. Sound design exists, but barely, which would've added a bit more life to the bosses but atleast it was there.

Platforming wise, its pretty throwaway. There are almost a couple minor gimmicks, which is certainly a step down from what I'd hope from a needleventure game, but beyond that, it generally gets less inspired as time goes on though not necessarily harder (atleast until the last platforming save which is just two inver jumps - ie bhop required - which is total shit since the platforming isn't really the hard part of the game and this is somewhat of a super tedious wall) - early stages have some personality with cherry platforming, light triggers or some minor engine gimmicks, whereas later is just flat ordinary needle.

At any rate, the heft of the game comes from the bosses. These vary fairly heavily in quality but were certainly the drawing factor for me to keep going. They very frequently also suffer from 'i'm going to have an enrage phase which makes the fight so much harder than before that 75% of the fight is borderline meaningless timesink' - the attacks being basically just the same plus harder every time does make it feel like a lot of attempts are just timesinks until you get to that point.

The plus of it is that every boss feels different (sort of) and has its own identity, and there's some interesting attacks/patterns to figure out along the way. The sort of in the above is due to the fact that right before the final boss, there's a boss rush remix. They were changed up moderately, with the exception of one which while different, still boiled down to one attack being 10x the problem of the rest, and it being the exact same attack as last time, but for the most part it was still enjoyable. While they were interesting and enjoyable as a whole, the only boss that really stood out for me was the final boss. As such, it feels like the kind of game where to get the most out of it, you're committed to going through a fair bit of mediocrity to get to the part that matters (similar to the boss design, I suppose).

At any rate, it was alright. It did very little to impress, lacked a ton of polish and had a fair bit of uninteresting filler, but it also had some really solid core concepts in places and some ambition behind it and could've been really good with actual testplaying and tweaking. If you're looking for a fairly challenging boss focused game that harkens back a bit to the olden days, this could tickle your fancy for a while.
