Version 1.111 is now out, with Japanese translation! Thank you syoken!
(and minor fixes/rebalances).
"Basically BTD6 but with fangame references"
On a random impulse I decided to build off of pieceofcheese87's "Guy Tower Defense" from 2019. Changes include more towers, more upgrades with new upgrade system, more maps, adjustable difficulty, funny number, etc. I hope you enjoy!

This is probably one of the coolest Fangames to ever be posted on Delicious Fruit, in fact, I think it's just one of my favorite games in general now. Guy Tower Defense 2022 is what you might think of as a sequel to Piece's 2019 game, but whereas that one felt mainly as a concept, this is a fully executed version of it.
There's so much more going on here that I think the fact that it is free means you should at least give it a try once if you ever stumble across this page. This is the Bloons Tower Defense of Fangames, and it features a lot more content than you might expect. Containing multiple maps, a plethora of towers, several great songs, varying enemy types, and even multiple difficulties, this is literally a goldmine worth digging into. The amount of replayability it has is a vast reminder of why Tower Defense games are fun in the first place, you can make up your own rules as you go along, try out different maps to see if you can beat them on the highest difficulty, or just have fun as much as possible.
So come in and decide to deploy your Mayumushi, send in a brigade of Boshys, or light up the skies with Captain Viridian, because if you like Tower Defense you will probably like this game. Great work was done here, and it really shows. Highly recommended to all!

The void eating all of my buildings almost gave me a heart attack.
Also, not a TD fan, but whatever.

Spoiler warning!
Originally beaten all main maps on v1.02 back in 2024, and now I returned back to this game on v1.1 to retry the whole game and the new maps, and to actually get until true clear.
Now, this game is just phenomenal. The original 'Guy Tower Defense' had a huge potential, but it existed in a vacuum without any real re-playability.
However, 3 years after the initial release, Gizmo has made complete remake of this game, with bunch of maps, difficulty settings, gimmicks, custom options, new towers, new enemies and etc.
Your requirement on beating the game is beating any 3 maps on Medium, which is basically beating Wave 40.
After you have beaten the minimum requirement, you will unlock 'Clear', which is actually the final map.
Now, funnily enough, I did not notice this thing when I tried this game the first time. I just noticed it on my 2nd playthrough, since I noticed additional arrow to the right.
In v1.1 there are 18 maps to play on: 6 on Beginner difficulty settings ; 6 on Intermediate ; 6 on Advanced and the final map.
You have 4 difficulty options, each of which have different final wave and different live system.
Additionally, after you beat the minimum requirement of the waves, you can play up to Wave 140. If you have beaten Wave 140 you will get in v1.1 the glowing badge.
The beginner maps are the most generic ones - you see different routes, but it is all linear.
The intermediate maps have varied routes, and advanced have special gimmicks.
Every tower and map references something from fangames, or just takes some creativity in different ways.
If you wanna beat until Wave 140, or higher difficulty settings, then you need some minimum of strategy, especially on advanced maps.
However, if you just wanna beat to get until the clear screen, then you can just cheese everything using just 1 tower: Captain Viridian. Just upgrade it so that it has the ability 'Perseverance' - it is extremely OP, and for the minimum requirements it goes very well. You might lose HP if you just wanna use 1 tower, but it still works, which is very funny.
As for the main gameplay, I would say that it is fun trying to beat the early maps or later maps on Wave 140 settings, especially those maps that change constantly routes or change your tower locations.
It does take quite a while if you wanna beat everything even just on the lowest setting. But it is still fun.
I really liked exploring every tower's abilities and finding different strats.
Captain Viridian is a bit over-powered, in my opinion, but I do not necessarily mind that.
As for the last map, I have to say that it was a really cool concept as well. I really did not expect such a thing and it made me feel happy that I have re-played this game once again.
I wish the beginner maps would have had some unique twists, and maybe also making it rely more on strategy, rather than just buying and upgrading everything as much as possible. However, the gimmicks on later maps does fix this issue, since you need to be creative enough to resolve the issues.
No clues how I would rate this game correctly, considering that I have found the cheese strats (not sure how hard is the game on Impossible mode and until Wave 140 on Advanced maps though). But I will leave the rating I wanted to give initially in 2024 on my blind playthrough.
Anyway, this is a great game and a great upgrade to the original game! I am really glad that someone did actually make this thing come true.
Highly would recommend to anyone.
