Well, at least it lived up to its name. This is indeed a basic medley.
If you played I Wanna Play the Medley Game from the same maker that came out two days before this, then you already have a pretty good idea what this is going to be. It's a collection of needle screens (unlike Play the Medley Game, there are zero traps, just one "move some spikes out of the way to progress" trigger) seemingly rebuilt from scratch at the cost of any aesthetic quality the original screens had. As an example, a screen from the intro stage of Bread is rebuilt using the yellow area tiles from Go Across the Rainbow. As much as default tilesets don't bother me, it hits different when screens you recognise are given them when they didn't before.
Speaking of graphics, a word of advice I would give the maker is to look into image_speed, as currently the minispikes and shiny K3 spikes are animating much faster than looks decent.
From a gameplay standpoint, none of the screen picks are all that offensive in my opinion (unless you have a staunch distaste for needle), other than a vstring platform grab in Let Oneself Relax that was kind of a pain, but that could just be a dislike of that kind of platform usage taking over. There's little else to talk about regarding the gameplay, which may or may not be a bad thing, depending on whether you feel like switching your brain off for a few minutes.
After the screens are over, you're pitted against what seems to be yangshuoen staples: Renex Engine bosses. The Celebrate 100 cherry feels like it had its HP increased from the original, though I do not know if that was a change renex made (on the record, I'm doubtful). After defeating that, you're then taken to a room where you fight the Utah Teapot... yet again... I get the impression they really enjoy this boss. Don't get me wrong, it's a good boss, but the novelty wears away fast when you make it the final encounter in everything you make.
EDIT: Forgot to mention a very important fact: the Utah Teapot opening cutscene broke. Technically that means that I didn't clear, but I'm marking it as one because I've fought that boss enough as is.
If anything, I can't help but wonder if Play the Medley Game and this should've just been Stages 1 and 2 of a larger project or something. Even with the recreations of screens from scratch, it would give it more of a presence as a larger entity. I'm almost expecting a third installment entitled something like "I Wanna Play the Simple Medley" coming out in two or three days from now. Hopefully not, but I'm putting my prediction in now.

This game does not have a single asset that isn't already in renex engine. That would be acceptable, if the design was creative, however almost none of the gimmicks in renex engine are used, so it just becomes completely dry and boring. I would recommend the creator look into gamemaker and how to use it beyond simply placing stuff in the room editor.

as the utah boss crashed, i'm counting reaching it as a clear.
this game is pretty much what the name implies: a basic medley game with nothing special. only one of the screens has any triggers (one trigger) and the rest is pretty boring needle taken from random games.
also fsr the screen before the boss was significantly more difficult than the rest of the game.
