I own 20 fumos and a deka; can confirm that this is the experience. Boss attacks were fun, but it is quite long if you want to go for a no hit clear.

Friendly endurance boss, its cool to try out to get lowest hit score.
Sadly (I imagine due to time constraints) you only keep the score from the previous attempt, and that itself is also not saved, so for people for lowest hit count will need an extra sheet somewhere to save it.

Jopagu
An avoidance/boss rush featuring 32 different attacks. The attacks are pretty fun, although the difficulty varies pretty heavily. You can get hit as many times as you want so it's a fun time to go through once just to see it all.
