Difficulty is based on the platforming.
A journey through the maker's experiences. As such, many design conventions are broken: the feelings a screen or stage are meant to conjure are clearly stated in-game, whether it be ideation, anger, or stress.
I don't feel comfortable rating such a personal game, in part due to my rating scale not leaving much room for subversion of "fun." That some design decisions rankled me was clearly a product of intent, and proceeding under the notion that this is not the case is simply an act of delusion.
That's not to presume there is no fun to be had; rather, it's more accurate to say that fun is not the core reason why one would play this. To approach this within that framework will lead to constant frustration, whereas to approach it with a willingness to experience—whether through the relation of one's own struggles with identity, purpose and meaning, or a simple desire to learn what that is like—will drastically alter one's perception of the game. It becomes about learning, about relating, more so than about a fun time.
