I made ooparts 3 because 1 and 2 sucked, and now I made this because o3 didn't age well.

I've been watching gmtk videos, playthrough of modern fangames and such to study level designs and it seems I still have lots of room for improvements, especially for needles.

Also, while I did taken extra stages seriously this time(unlike o3), I'll admit I went a little overboard with the extra boss. Sorry about that.

I saw this game on Delfruit and felt compelled to fire up a fangame for the first time in ages. Respect to the maker, as I have enjoyed their previous games, and this one met the bar as well. This is a very well put together game. I really enjoyed the platforming, difficulty was reasonable and the rooms were interesting. There were a few secrets that were questionable in terms of accessing them, and some bosses with some questionable moments, but enjoyed the exploring all the game had to offer. The extra final boss is a bit much for me, but it is extra after all, so not going to get too upset over it.

Everyone else coming out of retirement to play the new big needle game, me coming out to play OOPARTS4...glad to see the maker is still going.

Rating based on true clear. Had a lot of fun, platforming has some genuinely great gimmicks, and bosses are simple, but fun to dodge. An easy recommendation from me. Only minus point I noticed is that the needle is a bit generic, even though the creator said that he tried to make the platforming modern-ish.

very good game, i had a lot of fun. some gimmicks are very well use, my personal highlight is level 6, and is not all corridor needle (there are some corridors still) but is a huge progress

some things that not affect my rating: the bosses sprites has to be like milanesas, the bigger the better, okay seriously some bosses like the third one are so small they're cute.

and things that affect my rating: stage 9 could have a better use of the timer triggers, they only activate a spike in front and that's it... there is a lot (okay not a lot, but there are many) odd jumps, random diamonds, random corners at the end of the saves only to make things harder, nd personally i'm not a big big fan of the "do half screen to activate a trigger or collect all keys to unlock a door at the start"

Overall, a big improvement over the other games. There are some parts that are "ugh", but it's a good game.

here is how to get the secrets:

secret 1: screen 1-2... after activate the last trigger, try to jump close to the cherry next to the trigger
secret 2: screen 2-3... do a lap
secret 3: screen 3-2... shoot the random spike top left, next to the camera
secret 4: screen 4-1... in the drop to the warp, keep holding left until you find fake blocks.
secret 5: screen 5-4... do the screen normally, and at the end one trigger top left switches
secret 6: After boss... after defeat the boss, you will find a red dot in the screen, interact pressing UP
secret 7: screen 7-5... collect all the blue skulls
secret 8: screen 8-5... at the start, do the sideways gate
secret 9: screen 9-8... after get the last save, jump down
secret 10: after boss... "watch the credits"

It's not a HAEGOE game when there's no reference of metal slug and puyopuyo Kappa. This review is based on main contents.
I played the pre-release version, and the game was already mostly finished, so I decided to be the tester and find the details maker missed. Overall it was a very good adventure with decent difficulty, which is rare to see nowadays. I can see HAEGOE tried to avoid corridor platforming, and it definitely shows. (But I personally wish there were more trolls and traps.)
The bosses are very good as well. Major highlight is boss 6, very dynamic with various attacks. Only drawback is, the later bosses was a bit underwhelming, compared to boss 6. But it didn't harmed the overall quality so I won't deduct the rating.
I really liked the ending credit as well.
Rating for the main game is 8.4 and difficulty is 55.

Below is massive spoiler warning.

This part of review is based on 100% clear with secrets and extra, followed by rating and difficulty.
I didn't noticed there were secrets until I played the final screen of final stage, and clues about 'there are secrets in this game'. Thankfully secret hunting is not unreasonable, most of them are not hard to find.
Secret 1: Actually can be hard to find, I suggest you should search an empty space after the trigger. Wish the placement trials was harder but it's only stage 1 so okay.
Secret 2: Easy to find. Who used this water in a recent needle game, and made HAEGOE use it in here? Kappa
Secret 3: Every object is placed there for a reason. Secret was very good and short challenge. Mediocre players would take a while.
Secret 4: Fake blocks very early in the stage. But I missed and did various dumb things that includes beating the stage multiple times and etc. I wish the gimmick was used in the main game, but still good for a single screen secret.
Secret 5: Every object is placed there for a reason Season 2. Secret can be hard due to random but I first tried it. Very good.
Secret 6: There's no secret in the main stage, I didn't noticed and did various dumb things Season 2. Just remember there's an extra room after beating the boss, and press the up arrow key. Also it's been a long time I dealed a secret boss that gives you secret item, probably after boshy and kill the guy. Very good boss.
Secret 7: Easy secret to find. The boss was decent, but I doubt anyone would choose aimed attacks.
Secret 8: Your mindset should be 'There's something suspicious in here'. There was only a corridor with 8 gates in the first version I tested, so I suggested a serious level design and HAEGOE did. Good secret, tho wish it was harder.
Secret 9: Very easy secret to find, and the first I found. Now I think about it, it's just standard needle so kinda underwhelming compared to other secrets. But due to concept of this stage, personally it was understandable.
Extra stage: Harder usage of gimmicks from main stages, with harder level design. Very impressive, and it really shows HAEGOE cared. It was the exact difficulty I wanted, but screen 3 and 5 will be troublesome to mediocre players, so be careful.
Extra boss: Counterattacks from sideways was annoying but okay. Phase 2 will be hard if you're not familiar with barrage. The dialogue after beating the boss was somehow very impressive so extra points.
Overall it was a worthy adventure with appropriate difficulty. Okay HAEGOE, I will give you good rating like you wanted, you deserve it. Truly, it's HAEGOE's magnum opus.
Rating for 100% is 9.1 and difficulty is 63.

(I tested the game and did various dumb things to find an error in level design, gimmick test, finding possible skip, dumb ways of secret hunting so don't be serious about my result, decrease it around 40~50%.)
