please do not use this engine, i'm begging you, please use K&R engine or even yoyoyo gms2.3. the other reviewers do not emphasize enough how awful this engine is. i used this for my very first gamemaker project in 2022, and i severely regret picking this engine for it.
bugs:
- collision is terrible, you can very often clip into the corner of a block and just stay there
- slopes "work" but if you're using them with blocks, you will get stuck in the corner of the block
- saving & loading scripts will sometimes randomly break on you and decide not to work anymore (this happened to me twice, it was solved by random chance)
bad code:
- speaking of them, the saving & loading scripts are just not good, saving new variables with them is a pain, same with changing any of the settings
- sifting through the menu objects to try and modify them is also a pain if you wanna do that
- most gimmicks in the engine are just coded poorly in general
the most telling part of all this is that i was very much not a good programmer in 2022 but i still had to fix MULTIPLE bugs with the engine systems just to get some things to work properly
everything in this engine is just either mediocre or straight up bad, i only give this a 1/10 because ririry engine exists. i know i probably sound like a dick in this review but this engine is just not good and there are way, WAY better options out there.
