Whimsical, short, but very sweet Christmas present from happy, dedicated to Purrfexionator (for Secret Santa 2022 project).
It consists from 2 parts - few short trap screens, and Taisa avoidance.
I was very skeptical towards this game at the beginning, since I have seen the final boss of the game, and it did not impress me at the time. However, when I tried the actual game, I was genuinely surprised.
The game very reminds of Polipawa's style, although was made before Polipawa's style was a thing. Someone would say it is 'Zoomer' humour, but I would probably say that it is just very random real life references to culture media or to community itself, or just without any real context at all.
I feel like I am the target demographic, since I could be called as 'Zoomer', but to be honest, I cannot say that it is just 'funny element', what is here, that made me love the game.
I loved the creativity in traps and to surprise player. The moment with platforming-avoidance was absolutely not something I was expecting to try out, but here we are.
And in the very end Taisa made a lot of sense in the context of the game, and it made it even more funnier. You know - Last TIS is like a keeper of avoidances and is ultimate thing, and here it is shown as something that keeps forbidden food ... CHICKEN!! As title says, obviously...
Avoidance is very chaotic, and I have beaten it quickly. I know that people cannot agree on how hard it is, and I literally first-tried everything from 'Are you ready' part. But I must say, that it is really fun to play. Even when you are in the savespot, you know that you are not in safety, and you have to look around. Very small visual details allowed to enhance the overall experience. The only drawback about avoidance is that if you are outside the camera view, you are not gonna be killed, so you can kinda skip 1 or 2 attacks that way if you are creative enough.
I am not sure how it is to play this avoidance without the platforming, but in the context of the whole game, I personally had a lot of fun. And this was a really huge surprise for me.
I do not wanna spoil too much more, so just know - this is a really fun experience! Be ready that avoidance might be hard for complete beginner, but I think it is still manageable and good for practice. However, my difficulty rating might be underrating the game, so be aware of that (I decided this rating back in 2023, so yeah).
This game is 2nd time that Happy has participated in Secret Santa project, and it was really good improvement. And also this was the beginning in the quality, to culminate in the 'sequel' I want Pizza that came out 1 year after.
Highly would recommend!

The game has really bad balancing lol, random attacks can kill you out of nowhere, and some sections (imo 4 sections) are way harder than the rest. Plus, since the game is long, it gets tiring and exhausting pretty quickly.
I get the avoidance's charm, and I do like it, but I wouldn't really recommend beating hitless.

short needle game with some alright visuals. no idea what the name is about, I'm sure there's some sort of context to it. very basic needle design; doesn't stick to any particular grid snap. not very interesting unfortunately

same shit different day, yet somehow even worse than the original. the most uninteresting needle you will ever play and that's not an understatement. at the end it gets really, really bad. it's about 700 rooms long if you care

an unexpectedly amazing and fun heavy pattern avoidance by Eruna-chan. this game is one of my favorite avoidances to date and I had a bit of trouble figuring out just why. it has a lot going for it, and very little not going for it. I do believe that liking this game is quite subjective, as I feel a lot of people don't enjoy this sort of avoidance.
going into Compass, I expected little to no fun to be had. I had heard about Eruna-chan's sometimes poor balancing/general avoidance design, which greatly scared me at first. I expected a 10+ hour slog through the most annoying, unbalanced and just plainly unfun shit with a song that quickly gets annoying. turns out, the game is the exact opposite. despite being very learny and timing-dependent, it didn't take over 10 hours, it wasn't annoying, its balancing was fine and the song was very good. all of these attributes can be individually explored to a fairly deep degree - which I'm willing to do for the sake of this review
the avoidance is loaded front to end with very precise patterns that take time to learn. a lot of them plainly don't have clear visual cues and rely on basic muscle memory and some setups. there's no crazy inputs required other than a few 1fs I threw in because they were easier to do than whatever strat was intended. it's mechanically not very demanding in the raw tech sense, but requires very good kid control. this constitutes being able to rejump quickly after landing, making your way around the boss room efficiently, understanding jump heights, etc. these are all things that you should have a firm grasp of before trying to clear this avoidance. it's not a short avoidance either, you'll be doing a lot of these inputs time and time again until you perfect them. however, not the entire avoidance is pattern. there is still RNG - surprisingly hard RNG. mainly the slow circles before the last chorus which I just can't read for the life of me; and the fast circles that burst out when the color inverts around the middle of the avoidance. there is one particular RNG burst [sic] I really like that has a chance to be completely impossible if it gives you the wrong angle. this happens only maybe 1 in 15 times and usually isn't a run killer, as it's followed by one of the hardest patterns in the entire avoidance. said pattern is probably THE hardest pattern - i.e. the one where aimed cherries appear from the left, then burst in the center and you have to jump through them to the middle in order to survive. the final chorus is my favorite part, minus final. final is kinda stupid but I like the idea. I'm just atrocious at reading it. I think I'm also the only person who has ever died to the last possible frame. the fact this happened and I still gave the game a 9.8/10 should tell you how much fun I think it is
the balancing is fine, there's only two standout sections/attacks which I think are vastly harder than the rest. the aforementioned aimed pattern is the hardest one by far, as it depends on a whole ton of things before it and your general method of execution of previous patterns. last chorus is surprisingly consistent while containing some of the hardest patterns. the intro can get a bit boring since the buildup to the first chorus is kinda lame and not very interesting to read. you either get no cherries or way too many cherries. song is super fun, NayutalieN makes some super good, memorable and unique vocaloid music. I have no idea what correlation the name has with the song, but that isn't very important. I wouldn't really know what to think if the avoidance was called "I wanna Dance Robot Dance"
in short: a fantastic avoidance with some of the most fun patterns I've ever played coupled with a really good NayutalieN song
highly recommended!!
