Yes, I am giving this game such a high rating. No, this review is not a shitpost, and I am 100% serious.
One of my favorite niches are impossible games, hacks, and levels, and this extends to far outside iwbtg. From old Mario romhacks to Geometry Dash levels by 5 year olds, if they're done well, they never fail to be entertaining.
And within this sphere, nothing from any game has ever managed to reach the shear brilliant stupidity that Happil II has with maybe the exception of that one MSRemastered game. This game is awful to play, the reason that's not a problem is that you aren't supposed to play it. This is something you watch via some tas on YouTube and you're along for the ride for, and within that context it's incredible. From absurdly long repeating screens to bossfights that constantly put some absurd new bullshit on screen, you never know what's about to happen next.
Trying to judge Happil II as a playable game is like complaining a fish can't climb a tree. What this game sets out to do it is absolutely perfect at. There are 2 types of people who don't like this game, people who aren't interested in this type of thing which is totally fine, or joyless assholes.
