Yes, I am giving this game such a high rating. No, this review is not a shitpost, and I am 100% serious.
One of my favorite niches are impossible games, hacks, and levels, and this extends to far outside iwbtg. From old Mario romhacks to Geometry Dash levels by 5 year olds, if they're done well, they never fail to be entertaining.
And within this sphere, nothing from any game has ever managed to reach the shear brilliant stupidity that Happil II has with maybe the exception of that one MSRemastered game. This game is awful to play, the reason that's not a problem is that you aren't supposed to play it. This is something you watch via some tas on YouTube and you're along for the ride for, and within that context it's incredible. From absurdly long repeating screens to bossfights that constantly put some absurd new bullshit on screen, you never know what's about to happen next.
Trying to judge Happil II as a playable game is like complaining a fish can't climb a tree. What this game sets out to do it is absolutely perfect at. There are 2 types of people who don't like this game, people who aren't interested in this type of thing which is totally fine, or joyless assholes.

Super fun game with lots of mechanics and gimmicks used in a variety of ways; I have to admit, I found the gameplay in this game to be pretty rough sometimes, but in general I think the experience was positive and mostly affected by me playing really late into the night with a headache. As always with Erik games, the art and visuals for everything are great and there are just many creative ideas all around. What pushes it into the 9 realm for me has to be the final stage, which I think is definitely in my top favorite I wanna sections I have ever played.
