HAEGOE's best production. The game follows the structure of one hub leading to different areas with a boss at the end, that he uses frequently in his fangames. This time, as executed brilliantly in Octophobia, each area incorporates a gimmick that's used in various creative ways, and the maker did an excellent job of implementing them both originally and in a manner that complements each area's theme.
The bosses are all very different from each other in their appearance and the way you deal damage to them, but unfortunately, their attacks are extremely similar, leading to an occasional feeling of fighting the same boss but with a different skin. However, I found most of them enjoyable, even though they felt repetitive from time to time.
Finally, the game has three difficulty modes, a Regular mode, which is the intended difficulty, but also a Lite mode for more casual players, and in opposition, a Chaos mode for experienced players. What's intriguing about these game modes is that they go far beyond simply adding or removing saves, but instead completely alter the level design! That's a god move from the creator, proving to have enough care for reworking every segment in the game in order to make them fit well with their mode, this allowing you to have a totally different game experience depending of the difficulty you choose. Be aware that Chaos mode is significantly harder than in Octophobia, reaching a peak difficulty of around 87. Suitable only for veteran players!
