It starts off as somewhat decent beginner needle, then there is a minispike hell screen where the save placement makes no sense and the last screen I got to has an impossible jump as far as I can tell and at that point the needle becomes too precise that I wouldn't call it beginner or fun.

Meh, I've seen worse from games that work on a different engine(most notably my garbage from like two years ago).
I'm not really against different physics in fangames, and even kinda enjoyed having an overly floaty control feel for a change, but making the player automatically perform a double jump on holding the jump key too long is downright stupid. Additionally, the physics are different in the final boss fight for some reason.
But despite this, it would be a lie if I said that I didn't enjoy this game, so there you go
