Vine Journey is a fun two-stage needle gimmick with a heavy Celeste theme to it, utilising two particular stages from the game and some appropriate gimmicks to complement it.
I found the platforming to flow pretty well. No jumps really feel overly precise or awkward, and the balance in general makes the gameplay experience feel very smooth which always goes a long way in needle games. The production value is also nicely done, and I particularly liked the first stage (which I really wish was longer compared to the goliath that the second stage was in length).
I did find the ending of the final save to feel a little cheap given how long the save was, and you can't really see ahead to know where you need to be flying to avoid the spike blocks. The speed vines also felt a little difficult to immediately spot in the second stage, due to the contrast between their sprites and the tileset.
It's worth a play for sure if you're looking for a quick bite of needle with some nice polish and production value scattered throughout. I hope to see Ian do more stuff of this style in the future, particularly with the dynamic platforming featured in the first stage.

2021/5/20,All Clear!!!!!
This review will be divide in to 5 part.But in total,absolutely,it is a fantastic,great,brilliant,wonderful avoidance feast.There are 5 avoidance in this game.Each of them equipped with unbelievable visual effect,nice music,unique design,is very difficult to clear.
lilly stage:
The easiest one also the worst among first 3,is totally a luck-based game.If lilly could have spent more time on balancing,it could be a better avoidance.

Super fun avoidance,a little luck-based but finally consistent.You must acknowledge that it is a very good avoidance in visual and design,a fantastic work.I regard it as the hardest among the first 3.Since the second to the last attack and the Fianl are too hard.

Ao stage:
Thank Blue for making such a game to make me stronger.It's painful when playing,I really want to give up.Sometimes I don't want to play this game for fear and helplessness.
I died so many times at final and going to lose my mind .But i made it Finally! It's my first 90+ difficulty avoidance clear.It's a fun avoidance in general except some attacks are really BRUTAL.

Tomo stage:
My hardest clear.Absolutely the worst avoidance i've ever played and also the most insane boss i've ever experienced.It's much harder than Ao stage. Luckily this avoidance is short.And you must be super lucky or super power, Unfortunately I am not lucky at all, So i grind.But i personally had fun more or less from it. Thank you Tomo for letting me experience such an avoidance,That's insane, from all aspects.

Fun needle but sadly extremely short. It's also quite weird that the game has no music but only sound effects of birds singing.

It was a struggle because it was packed with an abundance of vines + gimmicks, which I'm not good at, but it was still pretty fun. I can recommend it.
