25f needle, contains some one-save-per-room long pure needle, and also some jtool water/vine/platform needle
i think for what the author tried to go for, they did a good job, so ill mostly talk about my criticism
stage 2 and 3 i sort of see a 'employing 1000 different kicks vs practicing one kick 1000 times' concept. every screen relies on stitched together jumps from the needle encyclopedia of quirky jumps. lets use this quirky vine setup, and then pair it with this quirky platform grab! ive seen every jump before, the surprise is all lost and the jumps are devoid of character really. if more care and practice was put into the more "mundane" jumps, i think the needle would have a lot more personality. this game feels heavily reliant on this forced variety, perhaps even built around it. even stage 4, where there wasnt vines/water/platform, i still felt it was tropey, i saw certain wallhug maneuvers and weaving back and forth that almost felt fit to a formula. its not wrong to use those jumps, but it felt all the focus went to this variety rather than the design, which resulted in a dry and unmemorable experience personally

little needle game with a lot of charm. and its a first work, great work

took another attempt at it, withdrawing my initial score of 9.5/10
up til the third stage, there was some different design, which was quite interesting
but when I got to the fourth stage, something happened. the balance was shattered in a mere instant. comparing the design of the saves before and after was like comparing water and oil.
and i say this as someone who is quite a lenient ratist. but since this is the creator's maiden work, ill give it some leeway. the game still stuck with me
