82 difficulty only because of screen 4.

This game is meh, mostly because of the final screen, which is a good deal harder and also contains a very gross water grab and horrible double downward water plane. The second and third screens are probably the best part, while the first would be cool if it didn't end with a plane.

It's interesting how the perceived difficulty has lowered over time. But I really do think a lot of players, when first encountering this, simply lacked experience with the approach necessary to beat games like this. That is to say, finding consistent setups and practicing jumps until you grow comfortable with them. It's not something you have to do in most fangames, but is borderline necessary when jumps are precise and savepoints are sparse.

Anyways, I think it's enough to simply acknowledge that we, as players in 2022, benefit greatly from the development of a "correct" approach to this style of game, and from other, much harder games to properly assess the difficulty of this one against. Back in 2015, clearing this game really was like clearing a 90 difficulty game by today's standards due to collective ignorance. Let the since-deflated difficulty not be representative of that perception a better part of a decade ago.

i really love this game, especially the first screen. the first jump is one of my favorite jumps in the game not necessarily because of the jump itself, but because of how significant it is. it is a perfect skill gate; almost all of the attempts before i started grinding were stopped at the first jump.

the second screen is imo the easiest as it has only two or three frame-perfect jumps. i would have a problem with the shuriken if i couldn't 3f consistently, and i'd have problems with the corner if i hadn't been told the good align.

the third screen is the first place where the game lost a 10/10 rating in my book, as it has a required 2f/1f. this feels like it goes against the design philosophy of the first two screens (especially the first), mainly being that they were not hardware-specifc and had barely any short taps, focusing mainly on jump height control past a 4f. for the most part though, this screen is very fun.

the fourth screen is my least favorite, as it almost completely throws out the design principles laid out by the first two screens. it has only a couple setup jumps, the rest being water-based. all of the water is inconsistent, though the most inconsistent for me was the double dplane; it felt more like rng compared to the first water jumps of the screen which i was able to set up to some extent.

overall, it is a really good game and one of my favorites, but as it goes on it seems to stray further from the design principles that make me love it, hence the 9.5.

I was surprised by this game. I am pretty sure that with better graphics, it could be a wonderful game. I can understand that people dont like it (there is A LOT pixel perfect/frame perfect jump for each saves), but i liked it. Would recommend to grind !
