Cosmoing
Another strong contender in my favorite genre, "I wanted to make an epic adventure but also have never made a game".
The story makes very little sense with poorly written dialogue, platforming ranges from actually pretty fun to some of the most insane cycles I've ever seen while also hitting every note in between, gimmicks that are "explained" after you've had the chance to get familiar with them, topped off with bosses that you'll never forget.
If you've played Kill the Last Boss, then ultimately this is a very familiar experience, although much harder and seemingly more sensical too. This gets a high recommend from me if you can handle the difficulty.
Note: This game does have required secrets and collecting them actually just doesn't work. You'll need to edit the globalSave file (which is in plain text, thankfully) to mark them as collected.
