A very fun 100 floor game with some great gimmicks like the jump+shoot gimmick and a neat soundtrack. A few saves are somewhat annoying, but nothing to really ruin the experience. Give it a go if you can handle the gimmicks.

This review is based on a 100% completion of the game.
Fairly decent game for its time. I really like the aesthetic of being nostalgic retro.
Save balancing in this game is okay for the most part, but the saves get questionable in balancing towards the end. The extra stage also falls into this problem of having some saves being decent while some are not consistent.
I am giving this a higher score mainly because of the feeling, music, and visuals of the game.

This was very good for the time in which it was released. Some parts are still good; I think stage 4—the catharsis-esque visuals—contains some high-quality screens. For people who enjoy the jump+shoot gimmick, stage 8 has held up well overall, though I personally despise it.
The platforming is of questionable quality. Most of it is gates, diagonals, and f-jump variants. It's never outright bad, but, particularly in later stages, they're placed late in a save in such a way that they kind of suck to do. It's not fun dying to a diagonal at the end of a long save.
Save placement is okay for the most part, but sometimes it doesn't make sense in conjunction with the platforming. Stages 8 and 10 are the most egregious offenders here.
The visuals are generally fine, though it can be hard to see which spikes are active in stage 8.
Overall, there's a good but not great experience to be had from this game for the right player.

For its time I find this needle game very impressive, and it really feels like it gets better as the game progresses, peaking in the EX stage if you go for all secrets. It starts getting quirkier with the platforming and the gimmicks are used in really smooth and fun ways.
