A fairly lengthy adventure game with many screens used in this author's other games.

Not sure if there's an overall story being unfolded, but it's a neat idea to imagine the MFU (Mashikaku Fangame Universe) that unravels throught his creations.

Stage 0 starts off with standard platforming before a "joke" boss at the end.

Stage 1 uses a spotlight gimmick with sprinkled traps here and there, not to the appeal for many I'd imagine.

Stage 2 is a branching section where items need to be collected in order to progress towards the boss.
One path is a puzzle area and hints are provided with the game; but I have not used them, so I don't know how useful they really are.
It ends with a long platform-scroller save that medleys the previous sub areas, same goes after the boss but in a different way and with a chase sequence.

Stage 3 uses randomly coloured (after resets) starbits as killers, sometimes barely visible but there aren't a lot to avoid fortunately. Ennemies that shoot projectiles are also present and can give a hard time to pass through.

Stage 4 is where the "real" visual challenge comes in with very big snowflakes that can obstruct the vision of the platforming. Still a variety of new obstacles to overcome.

Final st(age)retch is just a few screens of platforming and a trap before reaching the conclusion.

The platforming evolves more difficult as we progress with a generous curve.
Various challenges come along the way depending on the stage we are in.
It remains creative for a big portion and tries to avoid too much standard stuff by having a wide range of unique obstacles.

It can be frustrating to have to go through darkness and have to map out the screens when progressing in the platforming and traps, but once it is passed, it becomes less of a guessing game, even during the snow stage.

Along the way, the boss at the end of each stage gives a fair challenge with or without the gimmick present in their respective stage (if there is one).
A few of them also come up with their own gimmicky way and innovate a new challenge to keep some creativity going.
They do take some time before being defeated and the satisfaction that goes with it feels pretty great.

Very enjoyable for the most part and very sad that it ends so suddenly, feels like something is missing.

An interesting thing about this maker is that many of his fangames take place within the same place. You can recognize lots of screens from other of his games, like Cherry Brossom and Autumn Leaves, always arranged in the same way, but designed in different ways. It's like the maker made a huge set of interconnected screens and each of his games is just a route connecting the place that The Kid is at and the place The Kid wants to go to, while multiple specific events happen through the games. I really like this concept.
About the game itself: It's a fun adventure with a fair share of interesting stuff and a fair share of annoying stuff too. The bosses are quite interesting, although the last one follows the boring concept of getting stronger as his HP decreases. Some of them also have some really interesting attacks. The platforming is mostly fun and well designed, and paced in a mostly calm way. There's plenty of variety in the first few stages. Somewhat cute visuals, nice musics.
The spotlight gimmick is the first issue. Way too many leaps of faith in the worst possible places, and the spotlight's range is way too small, so even horizontal obstacles can be troublesome. There are lots of gaps between walls that sound like passages, but lead to absolutely nowhere. They have simply no reason to be there. The later stages don't have nearly as much variety as the earlier stages do, and they get repetitive quite quickly thanks to that. The spikes and the tiles really don't fit at some points. And the game ends WAY too suddenly.
It's a fun game, although it has its flaws. Would recommend, maybe.

Lots of cool ideas in this game, not all of them are the best executed but it's respectable, I think the way you progress throughout the game is very clever, as you often retread the same general place between stages but with new places to go. The highlight was probably the third stage, based on sweets and containing some fairy enemies, it was pretty fun to play. The bosses are one of the best bits of the game, they are pretty good. Nothing mind blowing but a solid fun adventure.

Really fun adventure game with a lot of heart put into it that makes it stand out to me. Despite being a completely linear game, it uses the same areas multiple times but turns them into completely different stages, thus making the game feel like it has its own world. Most of the platforming in this is pretty simple but fun enough to enjoy, and the bosses are mostly alright though I'm not a fan of the avoidance due to an attack that shoots stuff from the ground. It's pretty lengthy and took me 2 hours, but it stays at a comfortable difficulty the entire time.

Overall, definitely a solid experience worth playing.
